I am working on many many habits.
Mainly:
Waking up early to walk and stretch every morning, and workout some mornings.
Flossing and mouthwash, not just brushing teeth.

Eating at least 2-5 fruits per day as i'm picky so don't like many veggies. Also exercising 5 days per week at least 30 min each time and working way up to 8 glasses water, got up to 4 so far is best i've had in a while. Cut out a lot of fatty foods, do gradually to get body adjusted and stop drinking all that soda since that's too much carbs - replace it for water.

Eating at least 2 servings of fruits and vegetables per day.

I have been taking fruit for snacks at work, one serving in the morning and one serving in the afternoon. Other days, I am not so great at making sure I get fruits and veggies. I will put them in my cooking, but I might not get a full servings worth sometimes.

Good idea WMUGrad! I need to start taking vitamins as well. I did a great job taking prenatal vitamins when I was pregnant and I continued taking them as well. Of course I ran out and that's why I stopped taking them. I'm going to use women's one a day.

I definitely have to work on not eating out. It's part laziness, part cleaning out my kitchen/living room. I don't have a lot of walking room in my kitchen so there's no room to cook just yet. If Thanksgiving and Christmas coming up I want to get back to cooking regularly.

Those are all great habits. I feel like everything is going to go wonky for the next few weeks until after the wedding. Last night I was snacking with the family in the evening! Eeeeee - I had completely stopped eating between dinner and breakfast. I surely hope I don't stray too far away from my good habits.

working on not eating way past the point of being full. It's uncomfortable and it costs me money I don't have so it should be kind of a no-brainer...

As a new years resolution I cut out red meat from my diet, it's been really easy so far and I'm happy I finally made the change! It's making it a lot easier to think of what vegetables my meals will be planned around, versus the meat it was centered around before. I'm still working on keeping up my self-esteem and looking into myself for motivation rather than comparing myself to others and seeing how I am failing.

I know what you mean SMAYER6, eating the right things is WAY better then not eating anything! That's what Im always telling my friends who try to fast!

The good habits we've been following in our house this week is firstly to actually stop eating when we're full! I tell my daughters (and follow this rule for myself now that I'm conscious of it) is to take really small portions of all of the food groups, and just have seconds if I'm still hungry. I have noticed that a lot less food has good to waste, or been gorged, since starting this practice,

getting enough calories. i either don't get the required amount or go waayyyyyyyyyyy over. after less than a week i can see a difference in inches b/c of actually EATING!

Good luck with increasing the veggie intake, BMulligan! It's a great goal. I'm going to try to reduce my sugar intake. Just because I run doesn't mean I should eat ice cream every day. I joined the "Break Your Sweet Tooth" challenge last month and am stuck on week 3. I think it's time to revisit those goals!

I'm trying to eat vegetables... I've never been a fan of vegetables in general so it's a challenge. I'm also trying to make my snack habits healthier, since I don't really have time for real meals I snack throughout the day mostly on greek yogurt with honey (my new addiction!!!) and fruit like grapes, green apples and bananas. But man, the vegetable thing... one day I'll like them I hope!

I've been working on counting calories for the week just to make me more aware of what I put in my mouth. I am *fantastic* at mindless eating and eating tons of sugar a day… I've been doing pretty good though- I lost 4.6 lbs since Monday! :) I'm drinking tons of water, and eating a lot of healthy food and actually measuring things.

Crazy what a difference it makes. ;)

I like to throw everything into the mix, and see what sticks--I am one of those people who can never build habits one at a time and then add as I`ve mastered.
The current list is:
8 hours of sleep
8 cups of water
cut out pop
strength training four times a week
cardio three times a week
stay at lower end of calorie range

Today I blogged about my goals for this week. I usually have lofty, long term goals and that sets me up for failure. So I decided to try setting simple goals for a week to see if I can meet them. Baby steps are still better than no steps.
