Thank you Janet - and all who are praying.

Update on Steve: He is responding to treatment, still vomiting though. Hannah is needing to get more rest - she has not been home since Sunday. Her mother is staying with the kids and the four older ones came to church last evening with their aunt and uncle who were here visiting for a few days. Please continue to pray for the whole family.

Psalm 40:3 He has put a new song in my mouth, Praise to our God; many will see it and fear, and will trust in the Lord.

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things [all of my needs] shall be added unto you.

Hi
Haven't been on here for ages, but have an urgent prayer request so am going to every prayer group I can think of with it.

Please pray for a miracle for Steve R and his wife Hannah and their 7 young children ages 7 months to 15 years. Steve has been diagnosed with fungal meningitis of the brain, potentially fatal, and is currently in the hospital. He also has been struggling with sarcoidosis (an auto immune disease, resulting from welding in a non-ventilated environment) for a couple of years, therefore his resistance is down and he has not been able to fight off the infection.

Thank you.

Marj

My Alzheimer's or dementia is becoming more intense since I am forgetting something every few seconds. What is funny is that I can forget important things, but am figuring out puzzles in my life that have bothered me for years.

Don't often post here,
However we leave Sunday on our way to Charlotte NC which is the SIM USA home office.
We will be attending SIM start which is a 4 day conference for lack of a better word.
It will include a series of interveiws and appointments and lectures and Q & A times and we will know at the end of this time if we are candidates for overseas missions or not.
Please pray for wisdom, guidance and endurance.

Thanks for the updates, everyone! I'll try to put them in one post shortly so we can see everything at a glance.

So glad your chest congestion has cleared up, Janet. It's so easy to fall down, but hopefully you are almost healed by now. Are you able to take walks? I can seemingly trip and fall on level ground. Pain can affect every area of life, so I continue to pray for Joseph also - and that the legal details will come together soon.

Sorry that you're having problems with falling, Nellie. I think your chore worker is right about following your instincts. And I will pray about your little kitties (I adore cats, by the way). I have one that's nervous around everybody but me.

JanetR, God has been working in your life! So thankful for the good reports and will continue to pray. It's hard to say "no," so I'm glad you are able to set limits. Unfortunately, people will always find that difficult to accept.

Beth & Daniel found a house to rent in Valparaiso, so that's another praise. It's at the high end of their budget, but I think they will do fine. Beth enjoys yardwork and she will have a ball planting a garden (after 9 years of apartment living). Daniel's position at Notre Dame was only for this year and Heidelberg University in Germany was holding his position in case nothing opened up here, so I'm thankful for Valparaiso. Daniel sent out a lot of applications last fall before he had gone back to Germany to defend his thesis, and we learned that colleges don't even look at applications without a doctorate in hand. So this gives him two years to enjoy teaching before starting the application process again. Beth continues to be involved in campus ministry, just not full time. She recently led workshops at a Globalscope conference in Spain.

Good to see this thread! Beth Indiana is easier to get to than Germany for sure! Glad your son is doing better and is realizing he needs to take control of the diabetes. I know what a problem that can be when a loved one doesn't want to listen or control.

Janet glad you are doing better and that Joseph is continuing to seek help. Hope this works out for you both. This has been quite an ordeal for you.

Nellie I agree with the chore worker! Listen to your instincts! I'm learning that as well. Hopefully the kittens will adjust. We are trying to get our DIL to downgrade the number of cats she has! Just had 4 more kittens and all the cats are all over the place. One in particular does not like me and snicks in the house and leave me "presents" that I do not appreciate! Our 2 cats are really all we want to take care of. I'm learning how to limit what I do and take on! Don't think everyone is too pleased with this but I had to dry boundaries for my health and sanity sake!

I did have a stint put in during the Cath on the 18th. It wasn't as bad as they though so we still do not know what has caused the Congestive Heart Failure. Did see the Lung dr last week and all tests results came out good so no problem in the lungs. Saw the heart PA today and things are going along well. Will have an echogram on June 2 to see if any muscle control has returned. appreciate your continues prayers

Actually I had 2 falls. The first was when I forgot that walkers and stairs do not mix and I fell out of a dog grooming place that had one step and damaged my walker and hit my head. The second was when I (without the walker) proceeded down a little hill trying to pick up recycling that was blowing away, and fell on my head again (+ my face). My chore worker now tells me that when my instinct says "don't do it," I shouldn't do it.

I also would like prayers that 4 kitties I adopted about 4 years ago will adjust to living with me. They had come from an org. called Adopt a Kitten. They originally lived with a family that was evicted from their house and had to live in the family's car for a while until they arranged to go to Adopt a Kitten. I assume all the upheaval was very upsetting and they are still adjusting. They are beginning to adjust, but one who was the most nervous, recently had to go to the emergency vet, so is re-traumatized.

Thank you Carol for starting the thread off again this month.

PTL for the good news about your son. Praying for his continued recovery and yes...the control of his diabetes.
That is good news for Daniel & Beth...PTL.

Continuing to remember Janet in prayer. I know she is making some progress now PTL.

Praying for Nellie. She had a fall and that isn't good.

Thankfully after a month of chest congestion I seem to be clear again so no more ABs and steroids. Praying I can stay well now...
I too had a bad fall at the end of March. My knee wound has taken a month to heal...almost there now.
Joseph continues to have back pain from the car accident...(2 yrs in June) He's waiting for an appointment at a pain management clinic. We don't know if any treatment will be suitable for him. Afterwhich the case should hopefully be at an end and the solicitors can access the compensation.

Please share your prayer needs, updates and praises so we can lift each other up . . .

Janet (REYNJANET)
Janet, you continue to be in our prayers. Please update us when you can.
4/9 - Please keep me in your prayers. I was diagnoised this week with congestive heart failure which was really a big shock but I'm leaving things in God's Hands. I was in the hospital for testing from Mon - Fri and am waiting on some test results from my lungs. I will have a Heart Cath on the 18th and they hope to put in a stint.

Carole (PIANO*LADY)
5/1 - Thanks so much for your prayers. My son's surgeon was able to close 75% of his wound last week. He's still on the wound vac and antibiotic infusions, but making steady progress. The biggest praise is that he is serious about taking control of his diabetes.
-- Another praise is that my son-in-law was offered a two-year teaching fellowship at Valparaiso University in northwest Indiana. Beth & Daniel will still be a long way from us, but much closer than if they had moved back to Germany.
