Thanks Nellie. Pessa seems to think a ground floor flat will be better than a bungalow. Mainly because Derek is 86 and his health is poor, she's only 74 so doesn't want to move again, she says. Their son is a bit pushy and wants it all sorted quickly but as we know, decisions take time....

Yes, moving can be difficult, and even more so, when one has to find a place that will allow someone with a handicap to get there easily. I am praying about that.

Thank God Derek came through the operation which was something but Pessa has so much to start doing now. Finding somewhere for them to live etc and the actual move is traumatic.
Thank you all for your prayers.

Please remember this thread is for JULY also.

Sad news I'm afraid. Pessa rang this morning to say that they will operate to remove Derek's left leg from the knee down on Saturday morning. If he comes through the operation he will then be in a wheelchair. This will mean that the house they have lived in for almost 50 yrs will need to be cleared and sold and buy something on one floor. This is not easy in London where property is snapped up and is way over priced. It's a very difficult situation. They do have one son but seems he's gone to his Portuguese villa for 6 weeks with his family. I sincerely hope he gets back here to support his parents!!! I wrote to Pessa this morning and we have offered to be there on Saturday but need to wait for her response.
Thanks for your continued prayers.

I'm remembering Nicola in prayer too...that's very young to be having heart issues.

Can I ask again for prayers for Derek...he will be 86 today but looks like the heart is not pumping down to his left leg and could face losing half his leg. Poor Pessa is so worried of course. She knows we're praying but I think it's hard for her to have faith for his total healing. Thanks.

I didn't see a new thread for July yet so am posting this here. Paul told me today that his sister Nicola is having heart trouble again(she's 35 or thereabouts). It happened before but the doctors couldn't find anything wrong. I guess her heart races and she feels like she can't catch her breath even if she tries to breathe slower to slow her heartbeat. She'll be wearing a monitor for a week this time instead of a day. There aren't any heart problems in the family according to Paul. The boys haven't gotten to know their Auntie Nicola and are quite fond of her. And I've gotten to know her a bit better and we talk a little more now. I'd appreciate prayers that the problem goes away, the doctors find out what's casing it - something. I guess she's a bit depressed about it as well. Thank you.

PS Carol you've had a lot going on lately! I will be praying for you & your family. emoticon

It is 2 weeks since the surgery. I don't have much pain but my PT doesn't start til Thursday. It goes for 12 weeks 3x a week. My biggest problem is sleeping tho it is getting better. Had a good 2 days. Can still use only the left arm though. Glenn is waiting on me. He is a good man. The blessing that came out of the fire at his work. He is still home, probably one more week. And they are rebuilding but will be temporarily relocated. And praise God they are all being paid during this time off. Thanks for all of your prayers. Continue to pray for my recovery and healing.

Not bad for one hand emoticon

I agree Carol, God is in control and we thank Him for that.

Remembering you Carol for your surgery on Friday...and also that the Lord speaks to Jason about his need to take his diabetes seriously, even for the sake of his family.
Any news about the fire and the employees jobs...I have been praying the Lord can work it out somehow.

JanetR...continuing to remember Virginia's family at this time and also the anniversary of your mom's passing...those days are always hard ones, the Lord comfort your heart.

Remembering the other needs listed too.

Thanks for remembering me on June 13 for my surgery.

My son in law Jason is back in the hospital again. It has only been a month this time. Pray that he would see the gravity of how he is(or is not) handling his type I diabetes. He is not trying to control it at all. Never takes his blood sugar so he is only taking his insulin by carb count. This is the 5th time since he was diagnosed 1 1/2 years ago. He is also in a big depression and they have no insurance.

Also, Tuesday morning the building that Glenn works in was destroyed by fire. They are meeting tomorrow with the company to get further details as to what will happen.

Seems like a lot right now but God is in control

Praying for all.

Yes thanks Carol. And Janet for updating about Virginia. I know her family would appreciate prayers for the next couple of months while they grieve for their mother and take care of the property left. The grieving process can be a hard one as most know. I'm coming up on the 2nd anniversary of Mom's passing on Monday and some days I miss her so much!

Praying for the other concerns!

Thanks Carol for updating us again.

Praying for JanetR's family...we know that her cousin Virginia went to be with the lord last week.
Also remembering Mitch & Leah with the important decisions they need to make about their future plans.

My brother in law Derek seems to be progressing better. They say the healing of his legs will take several months so that is hampering his mobility. Pessa seems to be coping better. So thank you everyone for your continued prayers for them.
Still no further news on the house in Spain although people are viewing...no buyer as yet.

Please let us know of any praises or prayer needs that you may have, so we can pray for each other. I have carried over some of month's requests, so please keep us updated.

Janet (JANETELIZABETH1)
5/19 - I'd like to ask for prayer for Joseph's brother in-law Derek and his sister Pessa. He's almost 86 but has been very sick for several weeks now. Like Virginia his legs are full of fluid that's leaking out of his feet, so they won't heal. It seems to be a problem with his heart not pumping properly. These people are Jewish but they know we're praying for his healing. Pessa is 74 and worn out with all the running around when he was in hospital, he's home now but it's all very stressful for them. They both have to see the cardiologist tomorrow. Thanks.
5/1 - Update on Spain house - The town council have changed personal and we might actually get the licence we need but we shall still need a buyer too. It seems that the EU is making more and more rules that need to be adhered to before people can sell. We just can't afford to make any changes to the house so....it's all in the Lord's capable Hands!!

JanetR (REYNJANET)
5/19 - Needing prayers for my cousin Virginia Lee. She is 87 and has been in the hospital with congestive heart failure for over 3 weeks now. As of this date she has gained 21 lbs of fluid. She has internal bleeding but too week for them to find out where it is coming from. She has lived a good, solid Christian life and now is in pain and having to be on morphine. Please pray with the family and me that she will peaceably go to sleep and end her suffering if this is the Lord's will.
5/6 - Would like to add Leah and Mitch to this list. Mitch has/is applying for a positions and some of them are really quite a distance! Would love for them to stay close or at least within driving distance but God knows the future!

Carol G (RURAL3)
5/17 - My surgery is scheduled for Friday, June 13. Good thing I know who is in control!

CONTINUING NEEDS:
-- Mel's husband, Andy
-- Janet - My unsaved family, they badly need salvation and don't even know it!! Also, the sale of our home in Spain
