Finally made it to Part 2 and the action steps in Overcoming Binge Eating book. I got the diary set up and have been journalling food, water, emotions, activities.

Now that I am feeling better, portion sizes are starting to creep up. I am still keeping to eating before 9am, between noon -1 and 5-6. That seems to have helped stop some of the night time binge eating. I also get half my water down me by noon and the other half by 5, and then I just sip on what I feel like after that. Also, I have set a going to bed alarm. so my sleep is getting more normalized too.

I have a friend with FM and she is much affected by her diet. I don't really have FM, just the CFS part. Food makes a difference with that too and stress. It seems like our bodies can only cope with so much.

Before I went gluten free, my pain level was very high and constant. If I hadn't taken myself off gluten, I don't know if I would be here now. I worked full time with that pain too. The memory of it freaks me out to this day. It was a bad time for me.

Sugar can cause me pain too.

Yes, diet definitely affects my flares. Stress does too.

Does diet make a difference with your flares? I had three slices of a fancy white bread and my weight was up a pound. My back has been hurting all day and my skin is itchy.

My mom hiked throughout her seventies. My aunt was very active until she broke her hip more than once.

I suspect I can be more active. We shall see. I just get the bummer attitude when going through a flare.

Yes, I realize that our age is slowing us too, but my parents went white water rafting in their 70s. AND....I just posted a picture of one of my TOPS members in her 70s, riding a motorcycle with her son through about ten states. We just need to figure out what is going on with our bodies and do everything we can to heal.

You deserve to be whiney. I miss being the way I was where I could get up and go just about anywhere I wanted whenever I wanted, even though I worked full time!

Now,it wears me out to take Petey on a short walk.

I am glad that I love to read and watch good film. I would be really out of sorts if I didn't like that.

It's just scary. The last CFS episode I had took me about three years and a round of antibiotics to get over. Or this could be from my slow pulse. I am a whiney child. I want to do things and be the fun grandma that enjoys playing with the grandkids.

yes, and no. Was able to walk Buds farther this morning, but hit a wall this afternoon. Lots of chills, extreme fatigue. I think on my theory that the average healthy person can work 8 hours of light to moderate word and come home and work two more hours in the house and yard, then I have had a two hour day. I should start rating my days again.

I made a soup last night and tossed in a can of black beans and a can of kidney beans. I really should start using the dried beans to get the sodium out. But I did rinse them before adding them.

I hadn't thought about fiber being an issue. I do eat an awful lot of veggies though. Had a big salad yesterday too, but I also ate four servings of ice cream and there lies my problem. It is the binge eating. I am probably sugar and dairy sick. Bought some kombucha though and that should help offset some of that and there is no more ice cream in the house.

Amp up on the fiber, like in beans, too. I read that it makes the good microbes bloom in your gut which helps the immune system.

I fixed cuban black beans, and it may just be the placebo effect but i've been feeling a bit better.

Catching the flu is the worst.

I lost this thread. Glad to have found it again.

How is that tooth doing?

I have an appt. Next Monday. It has been infected for about three months. The urgent care dentist said the infection was draining properly so no need for antibiotics, but he couldn't refer me to an endodontist. Said I needed to establish a regular dentist.

I have not felt well since I got the flu at the beginning of the month. Lots of dizziness, and seizing up fatigue that just gets worse when I try to push past it.

Think I am going shopping today for greens for juicing and going to amp up on the airborne to help my immune system.

Just stopping by to say emoticon

Hope all is well. We met our new next door neighbor, and she seems to be pretty nice. She bought the house to be close to her dad to take care of him. He got into a car accident and passed after about a week. I feel bad for her. She moved her from another city, and her employer was letting her work remotely so she could care for her dad. Now, she doesn't know if her employer will let her continue to work remotely. Her employer is far from her current location.

Too many changes for her at once. I lost my pops years ago. I know it is hard, but to have all those changes at once!

I have been doing okay, some days better than others, per the norm. If I disappear for a while, I am going through a rough patch.

Things to do: dentist, neurologist, get script for PT again. My back went out most recently. I went through a lot of nerve pain recently, too. Yikes.

I hope I make it to the pet shelter.

First, to the dentist. I've been so moderately ill with small fevers and sweats, and exhaustion. I think I have a tooth which is reabsorbing the root. I will have my new dentist get films from my old dentist to compare. It happened to my sister. It is like an autoimmune tooth issue. Nothing like a probable extraction and an implant.

Love the pool. Really makes a difference for me and because of the weather, I haven't been in it in awhile. Hopefully tomorrow.

I worked yesterday. Told her I would need to go home for an hour and take a ten minute lay down. That seemed to help with my stamina. Managed to work almost 6 hours. Feeling mildly fatigued today. Part of that is bad food and dehydration. I better go drink some water.

One lovely thing about the pool is that you can consider dressing as part of your workout. Of course each move needs to be done with precision and purpose and zen breathing as you add socks and shoes and other clothing.

I finally got in the pool today. I didn't feel like it but told myself just to do five minutes each day, and I did 20! Did a lot of PT moves and some water jogging.

emoticon

I forgot to say that my sleep looks pretty good on my fitbit. I am not too restless. My battery on my flex won't hold a charge anymore though.

I treated myself to a new fitbit; one I can wear in the pool, too. The price had come down significantly in the past year or two. That really pleased me.

I hope I will be motivated to move more. It worked last time I wore a fitbit regularly.

I slept almost three hours during my nap. Woke at 9 pm and read a couple hours and slept another seven hours. Guess I needed it.

Pacing a little better today and hoping for a good swim tomorrow again. I think I am on Day four of eating healthy without binges. I eat healthy all the time. It is just that added layer of stuff I don't need that causes me the issues.

It is strange how a different form or format can make a difference. I decided to log my food in a journal I have. Kept forgetting to log or count calories. I went back to the TOPS weekly print out sheet and so far I have logged everything. Even last week when I was eating 3000 calories on some days. I averaged about 2500 calories a day. Too much for my small frame. Discovered I can lose weight on 1900 a day. I feel better when I eat that much too. I go below and I am constantly hungry and obsessing about food. I go over and I want to kick myself which is stupid too. Anyway, it feels good to be back in a healthy groove with the form by my plate when I eat.

Do you have a new beginning this week?

Drug around the last few days and it snowed last night and the sun came out today and I felt like swimming. There were only two of us in an olympic sized pool for part of the time. It was fabulous. My arms are a good sore, but I so badly need a nap. I should set the timer and do a ten minute lay down.

Must be a Chinese kind of day. I got the chicken and brocolli and ate less than half. Hope I didn't do too much damage.

Beth, Buddy and I walked two miles. I brought her home and we walked another mile with Billy, her dog. So I did another 5K today this time in two sessions. That feels so good.

I plan to walk a mile today with my walking friend and Buddy the Dog and I am taking the kids out to dinner at a Chinese restaurant. I got online and looked at the menu. I wish I could talk them into the Dockside or someplace where I can get a healthy meal. I went back to look at the menu. The Chicken broccoli might be good, but the MSG does a number on me. I could do a salad. They have the shrimp louie. That might feel special. Or a dinner salad and soup.

I wrote about my reading list on Dibs and Dabs.

I knitted today too. It was a lovely day, but I just did not feel up to getting out and enjoying it. May have done too much yesterday. 3 miles walking and a 30 minute swim.

I love that. I don't dream about Buddy too often. I seem to dream more about unresolved stuff.

Read the whole book last night. I thought it was two but it was six. Got a total of six hours of sleep last night with the nap. Feeling a bit groggy for TOPS tonight. Will do better tonight. It really was a great read with a bittersweet ending.

Books are the best, especially when not feeling up to par!

I've been sleeping a lot lately. I finally put clean sheets on my bed and a new festive comforter.

I watched Dogs on Netflix. There are as many rescue dogs in New York as people in Cleveland! There is also a rescue in Costa Rica that has 1200 dogs. That episode started out with a pack of dogs charging around with their cute dog butts in the air.

I had a dream that two friendly dogs were leading me down a country road. Can u tell I love dogs?

Good plan.

I crashed this afternoon, just sitting in a chair. reading Slept two hours in bed with cpap and still feel awful. I think I whined about this in a different thread. Thank you for letting me vent here. Better than annoying my friends and family.

I am getting much better at recognizing how my body feels after certain foods, and at getting right back on program when I slip.

I felt frustrated and disappointed in myself that I used my b day as an excuse to eat sweets. Instead of buying two containers of ice cream, I should have bought one very small container. I am going to put the ice cream in the garage freezer. I tend to forget things that are back there.

Sounds like a great plan! I love cruising.

I have a bad habit of being on my kindle too late which disturbs my sleep. I need to work on that.

I definitely continue to use pacing daily. Some days are better than others. I eat really healthy food for the most part, and have started taking liquid vitamins. The vitamins are helping both my sister and me. I think we absorb the liquid supplement better than the pills.

I go online to watch videos of people who exercise with autoimmune disease. One person was doing HIIT and all these intensive exercises before she became ill. Now, she does yoga and other gentle exercises on the days she is able to exercise. It helped my emotional state to watch her. I felt like someone truly understood what I am experiencing.

I am on my kindle too late at night again...lol.

Too cool you are doing an Autism walk!

Hello team! We have some new people. I hope they will find this thread and let us know how they are doing.

Let us know what works.

I have used pacing for the last several years to cope with the fatigue and it seems to help as does vitamin D, a cpap and thyroid medication and of course good nutrition, sleep and exercise. It is a matter of continuing to try new things to figure out what works for you.

On a personal note, I am signing up for an Autism Walk (Color the Coast) in April. Already rented a hotel room and trying to round up grandkids to do this with me. My walking partner did that first. Sounded like such a good idea, I copied. Our GKs play together well despite age differences.

Also my swim partner's doctor was so impressed with her recovering strength that she wants her swimming three times a week. So, that is also going to increase my swimming. The plan is to be in good enough shape that I can easily walk three miles in one setting. I have a cruise this summer.
