Karen, My son has been gluten free for about 8 years now. He can eat rice, potatoes, and other things gluten free. The breads vary. Some better than others and they are expensive. Corn tortillas don't have gluten and wouldn't be as expensive as the gluten free products.

Glenna, Ugh to the 90 degree day and paying property taxes. A nice change, though, for you to get out and do something different and stopping by to say hi to us.

My doctor is going to get pre-authorization to do a biopsy on the spot on my arm. She'll let me know when it's available. Then she said it's sent away to a lab and about a week later I'll have the stitch taken out of my arm and she should have results.

Good evening girls,
I just read everyone's posts to get caught up.

I went into town today. Had to pay property taxes. That was the least fun part of the day!

I did a bit of shopping for both mom and I. Also had to pick up cat food and food for Sis. Gotta feed her and keep her milking.

It was hot today. I think near 90. So I am one of those that's looking forward to fall! Or at least fall-like temps. It is only supposed to be low 70's tonight. And 86 tomorrow. then rain later in the day. Glad I chose today to go shopping. At least I didn't have to shop in the rain!

Just wanted to stop by and say hello to everyone. Or maybe it should be good night!

Karen,
Here is another one with healthy muffins. That is the only recipe I checked out on this blog, but this sounds like a JoAnna style recipe. She probably has lots more healthy recipes. Hope this helps.

Patty, I'm chuckling about Frog it - Rip it. Yes, you'd know as you're working along if it just isn't working for you and you can do something else with that yarn. I remember you really liked DazzleAire yarn. Too bad they don't make it again. Seems like there are lots of people knitting and crocheting.

Karen, I hope all goes well to get help with Part D and meds. Right now my Part D cost isn't bad and my copay on the generics I take is $2 for 3 months so I've been happy with that. I was sure relieved when my eye exam came out ok - I know if I ever need the glaucoma drops they are expensive and I'll bet they aren't on the cheap generic tier.

Just got back from the memorial service. Lots of people there. Came home for something to drink before I go to my doctor to have a spot on my arm looked at.

Karen, I'm sorry you are in such pain.

Have you checked out gluten free blogs?

Here is one using the crockpot.

www.ayearofslowcooking.com/

She uses something called Pamela's baking mix...sort of like bisquik, and her recipes are all gluten free.

Hope it helps Karen,

Today I took some income verification to job & family service. Hoping to qualify for help with my part D & meds. I also got some groceries & going to try to cut out wheat to see if I can get my pain under control . A loaf of gluten free bread was $6.00. Doesn't taste that good either. Lol.

Jan, sometimes I hate tearing out projects, but when it is taking me 4 days on a project, and still not done because just don't work on it, I know it's time to frog emoticon it...rip it rip it rip it...get it frog emoticon it

I just wasn't into it as much as I thought I would be, too big, but I found out how nicely the yarn stripes. I love the yarn, the bag was just too big.

burgers, no bun
potato salad
corn on the cob

doesn't that sound like a great summer supper...yum

I made a hat with yarn from that box hubby got me.

This yarn is Dazzleaire yarn. Remember I have told you in the past, how much I love that yarn, and they stop making it. broke my heart.

Anyway, this was 5 skeins of variegated lavender, green yellow and white. The hat turned out beautifully, love the colors.

In fact, I like it so much, I am taking this hat to the hospital and wear it at night while there. I always wear a hat to bed this summer, and especially in the hospital.

Patty, You made my day. I just walked into the computer room and said to myself "What a mess!" Now I can say - I'm displaying things. emoticon Do you mind tearing out things that don't work for you?

Lazy dog macaroni salad is on hold. I did make a loaf of zucchini bread (someone at church gave out big zucchinis) and that is out of the oven and smells good. In the meantime I got a call reminder of a friend's son's memorial service today so we will go to that to support our friends. The son was 62 and a quadriplegic for a number of years.

Also doing laundry, paid a bill, worked out a prescription refill for Bruce. I always refill them via phone as soon as they arrive (what we're supposed to do) but now and then one doesn't show up. He never thinks to tell me he's out til he has one left!

I'll need to finish some laundry, remake the bed and then clean up to go to the memorial.

Good morning Jan and Girls,

Jan, thank you for the chicken picture... emoticon
Jan, lazy dog macaroni salad sounds yummy.

Burgers and pasta salad sound good.

I had my phone pre-registration at 8 this morning.

I am tearing out the teals bag. It is just too big.

Finished a hat this morning. I only had 4 rounds to go.

74 degrees and overcast, rain expected.

Nothing else happening here.

Hi to all. Have a good day.

It's a short week. Monday house blessing here.

I think I want to make Lazy Dog Macaroni Salad today.

But first I need to make the coffee!

How are all of you doing today?
