Good Evening Ladies

Today was sunny and hot and then this evening a lot of smoke came rollin/g in.

I worked on the bread and bagels into individual bags and in the freezer. Got all the groceries put up. I did not get to the meat as we ended up having to go to town this afternoon and get some chicken feed and some other things we did not get to yesterday.

Came back and worked on supper. Really all I had to do was make a green salad and season meat for the grill.

Supper was grilled pork chops, potato salad, cucumber/corn salad, and green salad.
May have a banana smoothy for dessert.

Patty – I guess I was looking for strawberry cobbler and it was black berry cobbler. I must have misunderstood. Thanks for the location of the recipes. I got some grapes and usually do not get the all eaten so thought I might make a pie out of it.

Jan – Your bible study sounded productive and fun. Food sure can be a temptation. It is hard to believe we are half way through June. Time sure does fly. I tried your boiled eggs. I did let boil 1 min and let it set 25 minutes because of the altitude. I figure with pasta I will do it the way you do it and then I will know if it works for our altitude and then I can do the eggs the same. Sure is nice to not make it so hot in kitchen by boiling so long.

Karen – a magazine, nice drink, and cool weather sound like a good day. How nice to have a fun conversation with an old friend. I imagine most of us have old friends that do not live by us any more-you sure can miss them.

Glenna – sounds like you got the rest of your day figured out. Dishes and Laundry seem to always be there ready for us to do. We also have small churches that no longer are open. We are a small community so many of the churches start out small but do not always survive. It is kind of sad. Our area is kind of like Utah up here and mainly Mormon towns. We mainly went to Baptist churches but they are an hour away from us right now. Miss the one we use to go to when we lived in town.

Patty, We must have been posting at the same time. What fun to have a good coupon for yarn! I like your clock - coffee time! You and your Sis can have a ball tomorrow.

Glenna, One things for sure- laundry and dishes keep needing to be washed! Rainy days are good for catching up on some things.

Bible study went really well. It was a smaller group today and several said it was the best one yet. Karen- to answer your question, this year the study is on characters from the Bible. This months was Adam & Eve about temptation. We had really good discussion and everyone could let their hair down in a smaller group. I have to laugh - some of us talked about temptation of the flesh for some of us is food. Then we had dessert. Of course, it's fine to have dessert in moderation.

Iris, How are you doing? Any news about Sunny? Do you name the kittens Merrigold had?

Nina, I think you said you are home taking care of the groceries you bought yesterday so you'll probably have lots to report about that.

Hi everyone,

I am home from work and just relaxing a bit. It started raining here around noon. we had some rain during the night, too.

It will be an indoors day. so I will probably get into laundry. I have some washed and dried to put away and also a bit more to wash. And dishes.

June has gone by so quickly, I agree. I can't believe 6 months of the year is almost done.

It is cool here today. I know what you mean Karen about time and distance separating friends. I lost track of the people I was in school with. Of course that has been years ago!

Jan, How was Bible study today? That is nice that you ladies get together for that. Several of the small country churches around here have closed down.

How are you today, Patty and Iris? What are you into today Nina?

Karen, I'm with you. I don't mind sunny, a little bit warm days but it is so wonderfully cool today. Banana bread is so good. Let us know how you like it. So nice to chat with an old friend.

Oh, I just realized today is the 28th anniversary of my Dad's passing. I remember that day so well- I had stayed overnight at Mom's because Dad was failing.

No weed pulling for me yet. I've had phone calls about things to do at the meeting and now it's time to get ready to go.

Afternoon Girls,
Jan, it is really cool here today, 58, rainy and very windy.

We decided to go to town today.

Stopped at Michaels. I had a 40% off coupon, so bough a 16 ounce skein of blue yarn.
Also bought 3 t-shirts, for $2. each.

I have another 40% off coupon for tomorrow too, when Sis and I stop there, so will get another color of 16 ounce skein.

I worked on hats in the car today. Started on them last night. browns, tans and colors like that.

You are so right Jan. Time seems to fly much faster than when I was working. I made an easy banana bread today. I will review it after I try it. It will taste good with a cup of decaf. Maybe a book or magazine would make it even better. Our temps are in the 50's today. I am sure those that bought summer passes to swimming pool are wanting dry, hot days but i am happy with these temps. Is your group studying any particular book of Bible? I had a nice phone conversation with a good friend last night. We had many good times together but now the distance & years keep us apart. She is 79 & lives an hour from me. We are going to try to do better. I love potato salad so your making it makes me what some.

Good morning girls,

Ah, to wake up to comfortable temperatures! I opened the window anyway to let fresh air in and to hear the birds doing their morning songs.

Bible study this afternoon.

This morning I walked out on the patio to put water in the birdbath and water pots of herbs. I could smell the honeysuckle from the neighbors that is growing over the fence and it is just heavenly.

I think hamburgers on the George Foreman grill for dinner. I have some Pineapple Cashew Cole Slaw to go with that. I'm also making my Mom's recipe for potato salad.

This is how June flies by. I can't believe we're this close to mid-month already!

How's everyone doing today?
