Hi ladies
Nice to get those coupons

Was a fun day. DS and DGS, AND DGD came to help my DH do something. They had to leave by afternoon. But I had a good time with DGD as the guys left and to go to the dump.

I am working on my little notebook that has recipes for things I use a lot. Trying to reorganize it to find things better.

Going to DS for Memorial day. His two kids that are still home will be going back to their moms on Sunday evening. DS and DH and DGS are going fishing in the morning and then a Barbecue at his house. We will remember all the family that have passed and are celebrating in heaven. I made a potato salad to take tomorrow.

Supper was – Baked BBQ chicken legs, green beans with a few bacon bits and onions, sour cream mashed potatoes. Will have my Peanut Butter chocolate Cheesecake.

Too tired to chat. Will try and check in tomorrow evening. I did read everyone's post.

Nina

Good evening everyone,

Well the Dish guy finally got here and put a new dish up. So now I can get local channels.

I painted some more pieces of siding that will go onto the cellar top building. I don't need very much more and I'll have enough. It was one of those projects that Everett started. So I'll be glad to have that finished.

It rained pretty hard for just a bit this afternoon. Then this evening it thundered and sprinkled a bit and that was it.

I did get 6 tomato plants put out and staked.

Well, just wanted to say good night to everyone.

Thanks for the input. DS had some gluten-free panko so we added that to the meatloaf. Oats, unless specially done has gluten in it. More coming for dinner so I just added a bit more of everything.

I've never made a plum pie. I once went to a Scandinavian restaurant where they served a sour cream tart topped with plums - it was so good I'll never forget it. I guess similar to cheesecake.

Girls, I'm tired. Love my kids and their visits but I think tomorrow Bruce will be lucky to get a peanut butter sandwich! Meatloaf and baked potatoes are in the oven.

Patty, you can add to your list my husband who was born on this day. It is also the date we got married. No need to celebrate that. We had 25 years & did not celebrate much during those years.

Afternoon Girls,

Hi Glenna, I imagine that you are sore, it's hard work with all that bending and using muscles for different things. Hope the dish man comes soon.

Jan, maybe use oats in the meatloaf, or gluten free bread or gluten free crackers. If you have some rice, you could put some in a blender and make rice flour and use that...maybe. Or you could cook some rice and add that to the meat mixture. Lots of choices...with the cheese in the meatloaf, it really doesn't matter what starch you will put in there, it will bye yummy.

Karen, I love pasta salad, but hubby is not as fond of it.

It is supposed to get to 79 here today and humid...yuk humid. In the 60's it looks like for the next few days anyway.

Today is the birthday of my best friend in school. Also my Grampa's birthday.

I think for supper, corn on the cob, smoked sausage and grape tomatoes for supper.

I have some plums, maybe I will try to find a recipe for plum pie...anyone know if you have ever seen a recipe for plums from HE? I could just make an HE vanilla cream pie with cream cheese and sliced plums...there we go...easy peasy dessert.

Working a bit on another loomed hat. Really thick yarn.

Yesterday I finished a loom knit hat.
I also found a really thick fluffy yarn, and didn't want to make a hat out of it for some reason.

I will post what I did in case any of you crocheter's find a skein of super bulky yarn #6, and don't know what to do with it.

So I got out a crochet hook and started a scarf. The first hook, an L, was too small.
So I used a P (P for Patty?) hook, and that seemed to work well.

I first tried a double crochet, it wasn't working well with the yarn, so took that out and just used single crochet stitch.

I wasn't sure how long it would become as the yarn was really thick, and only 1 skein, the thicker the yarn, the less yardage in a skein.

So chained 14, sc in second stitch and across, 13 sc

Continued with 13 sc each row until I ran out of yarn, gave it 1 twist, sewed it together, and voila, a beautiful soft fluffy cowl. Took me about an hour, so fast with thick yarn. This yarn was a bulky #6 yarn.

Have a good day Girls.

Good afternoon ladies,

I am waiting for the Dish man to get here. He was scheduled between 2 and 4 pm. They are supposed to let you know exactly, but they didn't last time. So I imagine it is a wait and see thing.

I did tidy up a bit earlier. I am stiff and sore today. Too much gardening this past week, no doubt.

It is beginning to get cloudy here. I think we are supposed to have thunderstorms later today or tonight. It is pretty hot outside.

Well I just wanted to say hi to everybody.

Jan, Would oats work in your meatloaf? I think some of them are gluten free. Or maybe all of them. Just thinking!

Jan...i do think Rolland & i visited Tilamook when we were in Oregon. I need to check my old journals to be sure. I can use the coupons at farmers markets throughout several counties. I am looking forward to using them. The meatloaf sounds good. I want to make a pasta salad today & will add a can of tuna to make it a complete meal. The forecast is for higher temps today & rain tonight. We desperately need dry days for the farmers to plant fields. Maybe next week will be dry?

Good Saturday morning girls,

Or afternoon for some of you!

How is everyone today?

I feel cold this morning. Another rainy day but hoping for a surprise clearing like yesterday.

Today I'll make the meatloaf Patty shared from Marcia Adams. Maybe I should call it Cheddar Meatloaf since I'll be using Cheddar. Maybe I'll call it Tillamook Meatloaf . Tillamook is about 45 minutes down the coast and has a lot of dairy land and a couple of cheese factories. I need to figure out the cracker crumb part so if my oldest son is here he can eat it (gluten free).

Glenna, Did you get your dish fixed so you can see local tv?

Patty, Is it loom or have you gone to the hooks? emoticon

Karen, Where can you use the fruit/veggie coupons? Farmers markets or grocery store? Were you and Rolland at the Tillamook Cheese Factory when you were in Oregon.

Nina, What kind of busy are you today? emoticon
