Good Evening Ladies

Well it was a marathon in the kitchen for sure today. I did get my hamburger cooked and bagged in 4 oz. Two meat loaves, and Hamburger steaks made. I also cooked my ground turkey and pork sausage for Biscuits and gravy. Measured into 3 ounces and bagged. I also made some sausage patties from it. And bagged and in the freezer. Got my 5 lbs cheese bagged and frozen. Also got my chicken breasts bagged separately. Got my hot cocoa mix made too.

I was reading that drinking seltzer water was better for us. I got some lemon seltzer water. It did not have citric acid in it and said naturally flavored. Hoping That my IC bladder tolerates it because I liked it with some splenda in it.

Tonight we had “Southwestern Meat Loaf,” Baked potato wedges, mixed vegetables and green salad. Will have ice cream with my no sugar added Nesquick syrup for dessert. Living in the Southwest I did it just a little different for the sauce. Will post it on the cooking section.

We celebrate our 49th anniversary today. We usually do not celebrate it till spring just because it is right after Christmas. It is hard to believe for us that we are that old. Our minds feel like it was not that long ago.

Karen – sounds like a nice day for you today. Sounds like we both were making meat loaves today and cooking meat.

Jan – so glad your headache was better and you were able to go do the Bible study. A lot of non-perishables are still sitting on my table. I did not get to putting them away yet. As I get older it sure does take me more time to do things.

Glenna – Love the smiling snail. I did a lot of baking when we were having temperatures in the teens in the morning to help keep the house warm. I have not done beans in the oven like you were describing. I do not see why it would not be a good way of doing them. Sounds like it would be similar to using a crock pot. Hopefully you were able to get some of the work done you want. Although it sounds like you already did some work for the day.

Patty – I got such a good laugh about the yarn jumping into your arms. I could just picture it the way you described. Have fun with that yarn. I have seen a lot of NP and usually they give me more attention and information that the doctors. The doctors seem to have so little time now with us.

Troy & Jan are flying out to Vegas this afternoon. It is a family trip, all free for Jan's family. Troy does not like to fly so praying it is a smooth flight. Most are but I have had a few bumpy!

I have gathered up my ingredients for a Taco Bake recipe. I need the meat to thaw enough that I can save a chunk for a meat loaf. I may just decide to cook it all & buy more for the meatloaf.

Rolland had some really good N. P. It seems to be the trend but my doctors do not have them or the P.A.

I will try to get a picture of this beautiful gown. I am sure it is going to remain one of my favorites. It is white with gray dots sort of an animal type print. It is not heavy & so soft. It was free to me since my son Troy & Jan gave me the gift card. Stan Herman gowns are not cheap! I had a few dollars left on the gift card & QVC had a free shipping day. I found a summer gown reduced so it will be coming to my house soon. I had to pay about $26 of my own money for it. New summer dress/gown .. I am thankful for it!

Good afternoon girls,

I know this says good morning, but I couldn't resist that cheery little snail. She looks so happy.

Whew, I have had a busy day. And it is cold!!! It was 15 when I looked a bit ago. Yes, Jan, it is cold doing chores. I am happy to be back inside.

I did morning chores and went to moms. I was just about ready to leave and our fire dept got an EMS call for seizures. So off I went on that. And I am finally back home. Feels good to be inside and relaxing for awhile.

I hope to mop the kitchen later on today. And maybe do some things in there.

Karen, It was so nice to see your early post. I am glad you are enjoying the lounge dress. We are supposed to get more snow this weekend too. I think a few inches. At least it is supposed to be warmer.

Jan, I hope you are feeling better now. Headaches are so awful. And on Bible study day too. Not good. I hope you are able to go and enjoy it.

Patty, You know I have had the same problem sometimes when looking at yarn. That stuff just magically jumps off the shelf right at me. And it is always pretty colors that I love, too. So I don't want to put it back on the shelf. I figure it wants a new home with me!!! Do you remember PDQ that you could get to put in milk. I think it came in both chocolate and strawberry. Your pdq comment reminded me of that. I hope things goes well for your Sis.

Nina, Hope you are doing well today. I can just picture you in your kitchen cooking up a storm! I was thinking of doing something in the oven so it will give some extra heat. Have you ever done dried beans in the oven? You cover them with plenty of water and turn the oven on very low and leave them several hours. It has been awhile since I did it that way.

I'll talk to you all later on.

Doing better after 3 cups of coffee, Tylenol and breakfast. If it wasn't Bible study day I'd be with Karen in my lounge dress all day but it will work out. I'm leading the Bible study this month and someone always volunteers to bring a dessert - I heard it's going to be Costco's wonderful pumpkin pie! No appetite yet but might have one by that time.

Patty, I think you were driving your daughter today? Do you have snow? We must have been writing at the same time. Praying that things will be better at your 3 month checkup. Oh, I haven't been in a Michaels for ages (2 hours round trip). I can just see those beautiful yarns leaping into your arms. Praying all will go well for your Sis.

Nina, I hope all works out for your son and that job he's bidding on. Lots of putting away groceries for you today. I have times when I leave the non-perishables in bags til I can get to it.

Glenna, Are you snowed in? That must be mighty cold to go out to do chores.

Karen, I can visualize you in your lounger - like the queen emoticon

Hi Girls,
Karen, if we look, we can always find much to be thankful for, can't we.
I would love to see a picture of your new gown.
Happy birthday to your Sis. You girls are lots younger than I am...goodness, in the 60's still...lol

Jan, hope your headache goes away pdq...pretty darn quick.
Love that coffee.

I have a couple things to tell you Girls.

First of all, hubby and I left at 7 to go to town. We had to drop the truck off to get the front seat fixed.
Then off to my dr. appt.
I didn't get to see my dr., but a nurse pract. Wasn't too thrilled by that actually, but I handled it gracefully...hope so anyway.

My lab work was great except for one thing was up a little bit, so I need to see the dr. in 3 months instead of 4.

Karen, I cooked the fries and veggies at the same time. I have a divider to separate food if I want to use it.

I put the temp at 375, and just kept checking it to see when it was crisp enough for me. Really can't tell you the times. You also have to shake it up a bit half way through.

Sis is going to be moving to Traverse City, in first part of Feb. to a nursing type care home.
That is where her meetings are, and her friends are. A win win for her.

I stopped at Michael's on the way home.
I went in to pick up some more sock needles.

Well, I was walking down the aisle, and this yarn just jumped into my arms. 7 great huge skeins of yarn into my arms. One of them tried to escape by jumping onto the floor, but someone came and picked it up for me and put it back into my arms.
I was helpless, it wasn't my fault...really...lol

I bought pink, peach, mint green, turquoise, 2 different colors of lavender, one a bit darker than the other, and a white for stripeys.

Good morning Karen & girls,

I woke up with a headache. Ugh. So I was glad to see Karen's happy post.

Karen, Tell! Tell! What color is your new lounge dress? Happy birthday to your sister. I'm glad you had such a nice day together.

One cup of coffee down and I'll have another. If headache isn't gone I'll take Tylenol and go back to bed.

So much to be thankful for. Today is my sister Jills birthday. I think she is 64.

I am sure enjoying my new Stan Herman lounge dress & my morning coffee. I like my NIV Women's Bible, too.

We have a dusting of snow this morning. More is coming in a few days.

Nina... I hope your son gets that job. So hard to be without work & a paycheck.

Patty... I am looking forward to trying the french fries in my air fryer. I never buy the frozen ones because they are not good in the oven. I usually buy the hash browns & cook them on the stove top.

Hope you all have a great day. I am up earlier than usual (for me) & it feels great!
