What a great support system your mother is! Sometimes it takes someone like that to kick yourself into gear. I'm stuck in week 5 right now, so congrats for being able to do it. How is the program going for you? Can't wait to hear about your race in a few weeks!

@Runtofindme-- I took your advise and started at week 5. I ran today but i don't follow the timing as i should. but will for sure starting this upcoming week. I need some sort of timer. I am going to do this. I feel like I can't when I start but beam with pride when i finish!!

I am glad you are going to do this!! I am running my first 20k in a couple of weeks! I suggest you check out the couch to 5k plan. It will tell you what to do every day to get to running a 5k. If you can run 2 miles I would suggest starting at week 4-5 and you should be ready for your race!

Hello! My name is Jenn, I am new to this team (not Spark). I had a goal of running a 5K this year and for some reason decided that it wasn't going to happen and threw in the towel. Well, my mother threw me the bone that i needed. We signed up for a charity walk/run on June 23 and she decided that she wanted to run it. So, I am hoping to be in 5K shape by that date. Today I did a little over 2 miles with a little bit of walking. I feel GREAT! Back on my goal and going to keep going.

Looking forward to making friends here and I could use a little encouragement too!
