We (DD and I) have heated water tank and buckets. It's been very cold here in Michigan this winter so we've been going through hay like crazy. I've been putting a whole bale out for 3 horses and they are not gaining weight. It's been THAT cold. We also gave them access to the barn yard so they could snuggle up to the barn as a windbreak AND it's much warmer on the south side when the sun comes out. Another 6 weeks, then I can start conditioning them. AND cleaning up the poopy piles they've left in the barnyard. No good deed goes unpunished. lol

Lots of good quality hay and heated water tanks. We are in the process of building a new barn, but my guys stay out most of the time anyway. Its really a barn for me.

Hey Horse Lovers...

Thought we ought to have a new topic to discuss...

What are you doing to prepare your horse(s), your barn & pastures (if you have them), & yourself for this coming winter???

Are you doing anything different for your exercise routines???

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with your family, friends, & horse(s)!!!
