Ahhhhh, finally it makes sense. I've seen this on several horse forums here and have always wondered, even if it was a stunt is what could be the point? Now I understand. Thanks so much for explaining.

I'm curious what the purpose of the stunt was? It looked so painful. It also seemed like it had to be on purpose.

That was so terrible. Did any of you notice the only time he actually stayed in the saddle over a jump was when he didn't have his stirrup? I would be so embarrassed knowing that was on Youtube.

Each day is a new canvas to paint upon. Make sure your picture is full of life and happiness, and at the end of the day you don't look at it and wish you had painted something different. **Author Unknown**

All I could think of was about that poor horse's back is going to be SOOOO sore after that:(. That guy definitely doesn't know what he's doing! I'm sure he's had some training...he obviously is staying on...and he does manage to get his stirrups back after each jump. But he clearly is NOT a jumper! I can't imagine he's had any jumper training.

So very sad. Poor horse :(

That horse is a saint. I would take him home in a minute. But I think I have actually seen worse stuff in the dressage arena, and it seems to get worse in the higher levels.

That's just a crazy video. The guy had to be able to ride or else how in the world would he be able to stay on after being 3-4 feet above the horse EVERY jump! That horse could come live with me anytime!

If you scroll down on the comments people made on you tube, you can see a translation of the portugese, which essentially says the animal wasn't hurt. It's still kinda weird.

Had a spanish speaking friend look at the message at the end. Not spanish, might be portugese, so he understood enough to get the gist... It's a disclaimer stating no animals were harmed.

I jump horses, so, yes, it is possible to actually fly up like that. It's a novice mistake and comes because he's trying to 'throw himself' over the fence instead of letting the horse jump first and be carried over with him. This horse is an absolute saint! Where can I buy him? lol. If it's real, a novice rider bought a pre-trained jumping horse and didn't learn how to ride him. So sad! I can't imagine the rule that would allow him to keep riding the round though...

Oh my! All I can say is thank God you don't jump with a western saddle! He would have been severly impaled! lol! He wouldn't be able to use the bathroom for a very long time! lol!

Poor horse...must be a magnificant one...I bet "I" could even jump with him...he's sooo good. (and I have never even tried to)

I don't jump horses, so I have NO clue about this particular class. I wish I understood what was written at the end, that might give us a clue as to if it was a spoof or for real.

That's one of the most awful things I've ever seen. Could it really be real? Why didn't he fly off onto his head as his legs flew off the saddle? Why didn't the show officials stop that round? I don't know too much about it, but man, it seems like they should have stopped it if it was real.
