She also had looked into doing funerals. Dark horse that is calm...her horse fits. Client can't complain (okay that was bad...)

OMG - That was TOO funny!!! Bailey - you totally cracked me up with that one! emoticon

John is hoping to train Cruiser to drive besides ride. He is big enough and calm enough. I just love riding him though, feeling all that power between my legs... WOW - that sounds bad!!!! LOL

The combined driving looks like fun, thanks for sharing the website. There's a big event in Kentucky in 2010, my boss is helping a guy from Poland come over to participate. I have some georgeous pictures, let you know if I can get them posted.

I thought about doing funerals, but I like it better when people smile. They smile at weddings (at least most do.. lol!)

Oh yes ! I love to drive the carriages. My hubby drives too and I have a couple other drivers for whenever needed, but for the most part I drive all the weddings and events and whatnot. Granted.. I don't have exciting workouts by riding like you guys do, it's more of a slow speed thing, but it's fun (and I love the horses!).

Sounds like you got a workout from the ride! I hope to take big Frank out for a joyride this Sunday. My mother in law just moved into assisted living, per her own request, so the plan is to take her and any new friends she has met on a little carriage ride around downtown. This will be nice to have some play time before the fall season kicks into gear ! Have a great weekend everybody!

Last night John and I both did some riding in the indoor. John decided to round pen Cruiser first, so while he was doing that I got Bitsy saddled and in to the arena we went. OMG - that mare was a PITA!!!! She did NOT want to turn or give her head, she was stiff as a board and totally unresponsive. So I decided to so some stretching exercises with her, and I pulled the right rein gently to the side asking her to stretch... NOPE - she was NOT going to give her head - she wanted to stand there looking straight ahead and that was that... Finally after what seemed like forever she gave just a teensy bit. Then on to the left rein and repeat the process. Except she decided she wasn't going to give her head and instead went down on her knees and almost dumped me off - WTF!!!! I tried again with the same results - tried three more times but by now she has decided that buckling to her knees is getting her out of work. I was pissed as hell, so out came the crop and every time she started to drop to her knees I smacked her on the butt with the crop. Took me almost 10 minutes and she finally decided that she wasn't going to get out of being ridden. Now I've changed saddles and the sweat pattern from the aussie is exactly perfect so I know it's not a saddle fit issue. I also know it wasn't because the saddle was too tight because I always ride with a loose saddle - drives John nuts at how loose my saddles are. LOL Anyways, so last night she was just in her "I don't wanna and you aren't making me" mood and I happened to have PMS and wasn't about to tolerate those shenanigans. She did finally start to work nice and would turn with just the slightest touch, but it took some work and I had the sweat rolling off me to prove it!! LOL

Anyways, after John could hear that Bits had settled and it was safe to come in to the arena he brought Cruiser up and was riding him. Now Cruiser is such a good boy and he has a neck like a rubber band - he can nibble at your knee while riding! Well, John was just riding Cruiser at the walk and doing turns and such with him. Nothing fancy, just a nice little ride. After about a 1/2 hour John said he was done, so I said I wanted to ride Cruiser. So I handed Bitsy over to John, walked Cruiser over to the flat rack (hay wagon) in the corner of the arena, jumped up on the wagon and then onto Cruiser. I had the nicest ride on him - we just walked around nice and easy, but MAN I love that horse. John said he was jealous though - Cruiser moved better and behaved awesome for me. He kept testing John - stopping, doing passive aggressive "I don't wannna" stuff, but with me on him he walked like he was the proudest animal around. I told John it was because I had the crop... LOL

Anyways, that was my ride last night. Some bad, some good. But hey - any ride is better than no ride!
