i am making extremely slow progress. 2lbs now. I keep remembering the scripture "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength." Sweets are my downfall.
My daughter-in-law is also on the journey with me--so we talk to each other.

The book of Psalms is wonderful at reminding us of who we are in God. He is ready and able to conquer whatever we're going through.

I also have a wonderful network of friends and family who remind me of my many blessings. If we take our eyes off ourselves for a few minutes and look at the needs of those around us, our own needs begin to look pretty insignificant. At least mine do.

I have two good hands, a strong--pretty strong anyway--back for tackling jobs, a roof over my head, food in the fridge--probably too much or I wouldn't be here--a soft bed to sleep on, parents still around to talk to, a wonderful, funny son, and a job I love. I could go on and on, but who wants me to?

Have a wonderful week and a blessed July.

I need to feel everything for a short time before I can put it into perspective on a grander scheme. God is in control of my life and as scripture says, "God works all things together for good to those that love the Lord and are called according to his purpose."

It is well with my soul.

What you do speaks so loudly that I cannot hear what you say.

First, when I am that low, I allow myself to feel it fully instead of immediately trying to stuff it down and minimize my feelings. I have a little pity party for myself, without feeling guilty about feeling negative. Sometimes I'll talk to a friend or my DH or DD, and tell them what's going on.

Then, I look at the many positives in my life, at my abundant blessings, and the good that I know WILL come into my life that very day, and I can't feel so hopeless anymore. (Example: my son was recently killed; HOWEVER, I had him on Earth for 28 years, and he was one of the best young men you'd ever meet.}

Oh Dorothy!! Love your sense of humour!!! Bet that is how you "support" you!!! Atta girl! I have a super fine cane...didn't take mine to Jamaica to the big family wedding..well...wasn't that just the biggest mistake I have made for a long time...so..my precious nephew took it upon himself to go find me a cane...now I am the proud owner of a fancy cane that looks like a Jamaican man! It is awesome and I brought a man home from Jamaica!!! I am blessed!!

Have to agree...if you give it to God He will handle it...what is more...handle it correctly, too!! Have an awesome week...Caring Hugs, Donanne emoticon

To your question I was going to say with a cane but then I read your post. I alway look on the bright side and don't let anything get to me and if it does I take it to the Lord and let Him deal with it.

Dorothy

If you tell God no because He won't explain the reason He wants you to do something, you are actually hindering His blessing. But when you say yes to Him, all of heaven opens to pour out His goodness and reward your obedience. What matters more than material blessings are the things He is teaching us in our spirit.

I practice the attitude of gratitude to remind myself the blessings I do have.

Good Morning everyone! Read a blog of a SP who was in a really bad funk! Can you tell us what you do to get past feeling sad or overwhelmed or not motivated?

For me I make sure I say postive things to myself..sometimes it is darn hard but once you start it gets easier..plus I treat myself to some "me" time...a good book and a nice cup of tea on the porch.

Hope you have a great Sunday....Hugs, Donanne
