I want to make a difference in someones life. Make my life matter and find a purpose. Not just wake up each morning with no direction and motivation. My writing takes on a whole new meaning when I write about something that matters. It also scares me when I do that, because that means I have to come face to face with what ever I am working on.

Lately I have been editing two different stories not just to get them ready to publish, but also to escape for a while and enter the worlds of the characters i have created. When I dont have a motive for my writing is when its the most fun.

a. Writing inspires me to write. I start with "Groan! 15 minutes. Okay, I can do 15 minutes. It doesn't matter if any of it is great, but you never know. There might be one good sentence in the bunch." And provided the planets are aligned or whatever it is, something might happen. Either ideas flow in or they don't. But I can check off 15 minutes of journalling from my to-do list.
b. Reading a brilliant book.
c. Hearing some g-d awful cliche line in a TV show. There's nothing like truly squirm-worthy dialogue to make me want to "Write the story I want to read."

He was a tubby little chap who looked as if he had been poured into his clothes and had forgotten to say "when!"

I don't wait for inspiration. It doesn't always show up. Instead, I write in the evenings. If I'm really stuck for a way to describe someone or something, I might use a writing prompt from my Pinterest page, then work on it with my book in mind.

inspiration is not always a given. some times we have to set the wheels in motion so that we are allowing inspiration to manifest or be created. smooth jazz, a single candle, opening the blinds to see the view, all these are just a few things that may or may not help with creativity. see beyond the box emoticon

Yes, I do find that a challenge. It's why I tend to base my characters off of people I already know and events are based on stuff that I've either been through or know someone who went through them. I write about what I know. lol

I enjoy writing stories too! I also like journalizing. do you find organization of events and characters to be a challenge? a long time ago I wrote for our school paper. poetry was and is where I do my best I think. im really excited about the possibilities of our team. hopefully we will all assist one another in the growth of fitness and our writing. emoticon

Various things inspire me to write. Sometimes it's a song I'm listening to or a movie I'm watching. Sometimes I even get inspired by something while I'm in the car (driving or not). I definitely like to write while listening to rain also. :)
