I have not posted on here in a long time. I guess I need someone to give me a push. I try to keep my blood pressure under control by my diet and walking. I try to walk an hour a day. I'll try to post more and keep up with all.

Today I walked 19,845 steps, did my other exercises, ate within range, read my Bible, figured out the patterns for my knitted coasters and placemats, knitted one coaster, and bought new exercise equipment.

Hi Everyone!!! I'm fairly new to SP. I've been reading the messages so I decided to lose my fear of technology and join in. I'm happy to have discovered SP, it's been extremly helpful. I'm so proud of myself! Two weeks ago I went to see my doctor when I got on the scale I almost passed out! I have lost 40 pounds!!! I never thought I could do it.There I go again under estimating myself. But I know now that I can do anything if I set my mind to it and with the help of great SparkPeople!! I walk everyday from 2 to 3 miles 6 days a week with my 8 and 10 yr olds. I hope to be someone else inspiration. Thanks to everyone for sharing your stories they are very helpful. emoticon

Hi everyone, I know its been a while since i was here, life has been busy!, i am still on the coreg, norvas and HTZ combo.. dr cut the coreg to 12.5 twice a day taht helped my fatigue alot, but i was still feeling bad. so i tried cutting them in half myself for a little while.. so far its doing better, i have been way more active, not the point i want to be but active. my readings are good.. my problem is i havent changed my eating habits from before the new meds.. but i have gone up to 180lbs!!! I am making a dr appointment next week. I hope everyone is doing good!

Hi everyone. Not new but have been elsewhere. I'm very much against pills so doing the exercising and losing weight to reduce B.P. So will let go of ten more pounds by July 30th. I call it Independence Daze of unwanted pounds.

June's challenge is going well for me so far. I've raised my daily minimum to 15 minutes and usually manage more. Yesterday, I did 1 hour and 35 minutes, though I don't think that's a good idea just yet as I'm completely wrecked with aches today.

I walked 30 minutes on the farm last night - it's slightly downhill to the back or west of the farm - uphill coming back. I listen to music most of the time, but my husband joined me for part of the walk - a heifer was out, so he ended up dealing with her. I also walked about 5 minutes on the treadmill after I came in to keep it going and then wind down.

Hello Everyone....... I have been walking daily down to my mailbox and back using my cane only..... So the summer weather is here to stay I hope.......

CATH...... That profile is a hot, hot sun..... right now we have plus 21c which is about in the high 80's...... Lots of sun...... and drinking lots of water..... emoticon

We did have frost warnings last night...... and now it's already this hot....... So don't know when I'm going to take my plants outside....... Some people lost their early gardens....... So I am waiting until the frost warnings are done and over.

I did a 60 minute zumba class at the health club and I walked 3.5 miles. I'm down 73.5 pounds since September!

I walk every day and had a high of over 10 miles on the 18th!
Yesterday I did a 60 minute senior exercise class at the health club and walked 5.6 miles
My blood pressure has improved tremendously since I started walking every day and exercising and my doctor is ecstatic!

Your personal efforts in this group are truly inspiring.

Today, I walked briskly to the tram and (slightly less briskly) back for a total of about twenty minutes. Then I went to the shops across the street and that added another ten minutes walking. After that, my back was aching so badly I couldn't go out any more. I felt really sleepy BUT, instead of lying down as I usually would, I spent a few minutes on the stationary bike and that woke me up again. I'm aiming to achieve at least as much activity tomorrow.

Good Evening All.. Just got home from my walk around the track, 1 mile, with my cane in hand, I managed to go all the way around, I am proud of myself tonight, I know tomorrow I will fill the pain in my legs but it was worth it to me tonight.. Love ya all, Dawn
