There is actually an app called Achievement for anyone interested. The logo looks blue-green triangle with a smaller black triangle in the centre and a black square for the background.

You connect the Achievement app to another app like Fitbit or map my run. For my case I have it connected to Samsung Health and Twitter. You get points for weighing yourself, drinking water, taking steps or making a health related tweet on twitter.

Now it takes FOREVER to earn anything. 10,000 points = $10 and say 1,000 steps = 3 points. But even though it'll take me months to earn $10 I like the app and I remember to log my water and carry my phone to track my steps etc.

Most recent motivation is to get a Fitbit Flex 2 which is about $60 US.
And I've decided if I do 100 - 20 minute exercise sessions I can get the Fitbit Flex 2 :D. emoticon 100 because 20 minutes = .50 cents :D.

I can see how money can definitely be a big motivator!

It really is. I need to stop giving in, but just keep doing it.

I am the same way when eating with friends. It's easier if it's just me and my husband but when I'm outnumbered making the less nutritious choice is a lot easier.

For me, I'm great when I start and then my family is eating pizza, so I eat pizza and I just fall back into routine like it's nothing. My problem is keeping my momentum, I don't seem to do well after a week or two. It's way too easy to fall back into bad habits.

I fall off the wagon a lot too. What gets me back on?

Well I think it's remembering why I was trying to reach my goals in the first place?

I want to feel stronger, I want to be stronger, I want to be fitter and healthier and feel healthier.
I want to be mobile when I'm older and not dependant on a wheel chair or walker because I was too inactive at this point in my life. Also being able to do things like swim a mile or run a 5k or lift heavier weights or complete a hiit workout makes me feel more confident which makes me feel more attractive and proud of myself.

But I always seem to forget all this when I'm not seeing results fast enough or when I hit a plateau. I'm remembering it all now which is why I am back on here. I don't know how people develop the habits and discipline that keeps them pushing even when the motivation is not there but I'm determined to find it.

Want to see what motivates everyone. If you are still here and still active on spark, what motivates you to keep getting healthy? If you are anything like me you fall off the band wagon a lot and have to get back on. My why, I want to be healthy for my husband and step daughter and I sill have hope of having a child of my own before it's too late.
