Sarah, your project really sounds lovely. You will have to share a picture with us when it is done.

I am working on a needlepoint project right now. It is called EGA Girl, and it is a national project of the Embroidery Guild that is traveling from chapter to chapter to be worked on. She is really cool. I am stitching her hat, and my deadline is January 15 when she has to move on to the next chapter. I think I might be able to finish this weekend since I have Thursday and Friday off. When I finish with my part, I will post a picture.

Happy stitching everyone!

At the moment I'm working on what will eventually become a throw pillow with my fiance's name, my name, and our anniversary date on it. I started with a linen napkin that I don't think I ever used once as a napkin, and I'm about halfway through the second line in the border now. I'm going to stitch it onto a pillow (that I'll probably buy, if I'm being honest) when it's done. And with my life being hectic (special-needs preschooler, part-time job, dog, fiance, etc), it might take a few months to complete.

I posted a couple of photos in my sparkpage album of what I have been working on. I am stitching on a couple of drawn work medallions, and I also posted a picture of a Kissing Pillow top that I stitched.

I am working on a pair of pants for the Mother of a good friend. I drew flowers and vines up the seams and around the cuff area. The pants are lined so they are a little more challenging than normal. I hope to have them finished as a Christmas surprise. Sherry

2 to 3 years to finish? You sound as if you like a challenge Magdalini! WOO HOOO you go girl! If it's as pretty as all your other cross stitch photos of your work that you have posted on your sparkpage--it will be glorious!

Connie might remember that last year I was working on some dish towels with a coffee cup theme for my daughter's kitchen. Guess what?...I was cleaning out my sewing drawers and found that I had tucked some unfinished ones away and forgotten all about them! That's the bad part about having too many projects going on at once..lol

Good part is now I know what to work on :)

Thanks for all your comments! I can't wait to get more tattoos- Oh! I just checked my page and I have 2 others I realize I've gotten since I started and stopped last year. I now have a film strip around my right wrist and I need to finish my left wrist which just has a lightning bolt on the inside. I've got plans for a few others too before I'm down to the weight/size I'd like to be to get my side tattoo/can wear a bikini to show it off! ;)

I finished the camera and can't wait to keep going but I've taken kind of an interlude to work on a mini birthday project for my mom. You can see more photos and other work here - http://www.flickr.com/photos/chedderfish/

Some really nice work done! I enjoyed looking at them. Now I'm going to check your page for the tattoos. I have a 1-inch yellow rose tattoo with leaves on the top of my left hand below my little finger.

Liz -

Your project is very pretty! I like the fabric you are working it on. All the different fabrics in the hoops are very pretty too.

I also looked at your Spark page. I like your tattoos. I have one too, a lotus on my shoulder. My daughter got it for me for my birthday this year, and she got a matching lotus on the back of her neck. I love mine! Your kitties are precious.

Oh yeah, the French Knot is a cool stitch. The only problem with it is if you have to iron the finished product, they don't iron up too well.

Well, at least you would be doing something... ok.. 'nuff..
Back to stitches, I think my favorite stitch is the french knot.

Have to add this. It's a boring stitch. Up and down and up and down. If I wanna go up and down, I'll make love to my husband. emoticon

I love counted cross stitch but the little stitches that make pictures.. I would admire my mom who did the cross stitch quilts and such all the time.. I'd go to visit and she would be curled up on the couch sewing those blasted cross stitches.. lol.. I don't know how she did it.. I would go crazy doing it.

Mine has a lot of different stitches but mostly counted cross stitch which I hate. But I decided I am going to do all the flowers one color rather than 4 different shades of blue. Than I don't have to worry if I have the right shade of blue on the right X. And it should be fine.

I did one napkin the correct way and it took forever. So now I have to go and buy a bunch of blue floss. I got mine from Mary Maxim's catalog.

Cool... Is there a lot of complicated stitches to it? Mine's just french knots and, I guess it's called, a leaf stitch... to make the pedals. I started this one before my mom died, in fact, she was there when I bought it at michael's and helped me get all the thread for it.. She died 10/17/06.. emoticon

I have a tablecloth and 8 napkins that I am doing for my daughter-in-law. I started it last year when I went to live with my brother until he passed on. He died and I kind of put it away. I need to get started on it again.

I'm curious as to what embroidery project everyone is working on. I've got a table cloth with bouquets of flowers on it, that I started a few years back, have been trying to get back to it.
