Okay, so today KC and Sadie were told not to bother the grandbaby and they started to patrol around the blanket on the floor while she was sleeping. When she woke up, KC came and started dancing around so she would look at her!

Funny how our furbabies have quirks that are unique to them just as we do also!

I was going to say she must feel naked without her collar. I know Sophie was all excited when I put her "new" tag on her collar. She danced around like she was getting a treat. I don't give my dogs soft anymore either, because they are destroyed in minutes. They don't usually play with balls, but they like the tug ropes.

When we remove Star's collar for bathing she becomes depressed, and it's not about the bath. She keeps going back to her collar, tries to maneuver her head to get it on and whimpers when she can't. When she is fully dry and we put it back on, she gets "happy feet" and charges all over the house. I figure she likes the jingles sound the tags make and it is a part of her. She doesn't want to be "naked".

I no longer give her soft toys as she must remove all the stuffing.

What I find so cute, she will not go out the front door unless told she can. She will lean her head out as far as she can but her feet will not cross the threshold even if a cat is out there (she dearly loves to chase cats).

One more thing Murphy does is when I ask him if he needs to go outside, he goes to his water dish and drinks. Not sure why he does that. During the summer I make sure they have water outside.

Jessica was the female runt. We got her at three weeks and hand-raised her. I used to lay her on my chest with her nose near my neck so she could hear my heartbeat when she was tiny. Now, I wake up with a fifty pound dog laying on my chest with her nose on my neck! She is always trying to get into my lap or arms.

Do all cockers have this inate sense of where the paper is? I swear it is a daily part of our pups diets. They eat any paper they can find, kleenex, cardboard, napkins, they will even tp a room just to get the toilet paper. *shaking head*

I had a dog that would paw me until I gave her some attention. Murphy also can sniff out kleenex! He roots in my pockets if I put my coat over a chair instead of hanging it up. He usually finds one there.

OH gosh, Clyde is a character. He growls while eating, sounds like a bumble bee or an engine. He learned to bark from watching tremors with my parents. He knows he cannot jump on the counter, so he stands back on his hind legs and "looks" like a murcat. It is too funny to watch. He has a toy addiction and can smell when you have been to the pet store, or he will check all the bags that are brought in for his new toy. And my fave habit, if he wants a treat, he will start gently pawing at your leg and get more forceful or he will very lightly put his paw on your foot and apply more pressure the longer you make him wait...
He also loves tortillas, white trash, and ice cream and will let you know where it is so you can give it to him. And he knows his toys by name, so you can tell him to go get red ball and he will.

Cooper we call swatty paws as he swats at everything he can on the counters. Sigh. He also likes to steal Clydes toys. Oh and he loves ice and water. We have to be careful about putting down water because he will knock the bowl over to play in it. If you put ice in the water (yes I do because it is funny) he will bob for the ice. And as you can imagine with cocker ears, well, it gets everywhere.

Charlene likes to hurl herself at you. And does not like having to be on the ground. She thinks her home is in someone's arms. She is the queen after all. She also likes to nose you in the eye to get you up in the am.

The power to change, the courage to do, the will and drive to be exceptional lies within me, and by leaving my fears, my doubts, and my excuses behind, I embrace all that lies within me.

Another dog I had had a stuffed toy that looked like a chicken. She carried that around for months and would wash it. I put it in the wash one day, because it was filthy and she wasn't happy about it. When she died, I buried it with her.

Another one I though of, because I saw it yesterday, is Murphy always has to grab his leash when I put it on him. It is like he is going to walk himself. It was funny yesterday because I put his harness on but not the leash just yet. He was spinning circles looking for the leash or trying to grab the harness.

One of my aussies will pick up a toy every time he knows he's going to be let outside. He picks up any toy near him, runs to the back door, stands there and wiggles at me. I then take the toy away (the cushy ones aren't allowed outside) which sometimes he will drop before I even get my hand down there and he and the other two boys run outside! Every time without fail...it's the weirdest thing!

Sometimes I wonder..."Why is that frisbee getting bigger?"...and then it hits me....

Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid. - Albert Einstein

Murphy will stand near his food dish with food in it. While Sophie is eating her food, he growls and barks until she is done eating. She turns around and sits close by and growls back while he starts to play with his food. This goes on for several minutes until he decides it is best to eat his food. I don't know if this is just a behavior that is showing who is alpha dog or what....you know how packs let some dogs eat first and who gets to eat the leftovers. He will also flick out a couple pieces of food and she eats it. He did this with my other dog too! He does it everyday regardless if he wants to eat or not. I have to watch him eat, because if he doesn't I need to pick up the dish, otherwise Sophie will be eating it.

Sophie has always had this behavior that I questioned the vet about. She walks in circles, spins and runs around my coffee table in circles. I thought maybe she was a little crazy or loopy. My vet said that she is probably just excited to see me. She does this every morning and is ready to go outside. So maybe it is like a kid crossing their legs because they have to go potty, she runs in circles and whines. LOL!!

I thought this topic might be kind of fun to see if your dogs have any goofy or strange habits or behaviors they do on a daily basis that make us laugh.

I know mine do and I have to laugh at them every day!

Please share!
