Hi all. Sorry that I have been MIA for awhile. Just been busy with work, home and family visits. I hope to be back on more now that it is fall. I need to get back on track. Put on about 10 pounds. Need to get going the other way again. I have been bike riding, but not like I have last year. I am hoping to do more now that it is cooler in the mornings. Did a 12 mile yesterday and a 4 mile today. Feel really good.
Well, got to get ready for work. Talk to you all later.

I have volunteered to coordinate the "Crop Walk" that is normally held in the fall here in GJ. It has been moved to the spring season. I need to have a committee of 3-5 people and a bunch of volunteers. Would anyone be interested?

I have never done anything like this and still know only the above and that it goes for a good cause. Let me know, either by SP mail, Facebook @ facebook.com/wr1275, or email @ divinechild75@yahoo.com.

Thanks for considering it! For basic info: http://www.churchworldservice.org/site/Pag

Monday we were on our way to Fruita when it started to pour. I don't think I have ever seen it rain so hard in this area. We could barely see the road. The streets in Fruita had water to the top of the curbs. It is wonderful to get some rain even if it is all at once.

Good morning, all!

I am still not working so much on my physical fitness as my mental, though I am tracking both here. Had an interesting day, yesterday. My ex-husband got engaged. Not sure what that made me feel, but definitely gave me pause. It's been 9 years and we have both moved on--weird that I would feel anything. Hmmm.

Headed to the county fair tonight and am glad I'm not working toward any "food" goals, because I plan to enjoy the fair food!

Have a beautiful one!

Thank you all of you!! I drew strength from everyone here in different ways, your all amazing!!! I'm going to stay on SP to tack things for a while I cant really say how long I'll need to I guess I'll just see how I feel. but if anyone here wants to chat just drop me a line I'll get back to you ASAP thanks again and you all have my best wishes!!!

I have been crazy busy with going to school full-time online and working full-time. This on top of learning to live with depression and anxiety as illnesses. It's crazy when your only defense against your illness is exactly what the illness attacks (thoughts, emotions). It feels like you are defeated before you even know the race exists.

Sorry about not checking in very frequently - it seems like I spend a lot of time on the SparkPeople web site, & it always seems like there are too many sites to do justice to......

I like the idea of the get togethers that you have in Grand Junction, but it's not very feasible for me to join you - I live over an hour drive away.

Hi All,
Well been busy at work and home. Taking a 4 day weekend this week. Starting tomorrow thru Sunday. We are going to head over to the daughters house on Saturday. Going to be nice to see the grandsons over there.
I haven't been doing to good lately. I have gained 5 pounds. So I need to get back on track. I've started reading the Atkins' book, even bought the cook book. Really nice recipes in it. So hopefully I'll be getting back on track soon.
Hope everyone is doing good. Have a great day.

Hi all, Sorry that I've been MIA. Just been busy with work. Worked a double shift one day last week, and this week I am working today which is my day off. I have gotten a few bike rides in this month. Can't wait to do more

Ramy- Good luck on the Atkins. I haven't done Atkins, but I do watch my carbs. I too also get a sweet craving late at night. I try and not eat anything after 9pm.

Hope everyone is doing great. Talk to you all later.

Atkins - day 1...DONE! The only problems I'm having is the same old late-night sweet tooth!! I drank an Atkins shake and I'm going to bed in a few minutes so I think I did pretty good today!! 21.6 grams of net carbs for the day. Hopefully tomorrow will be just as easy (not likely).

Hello All,
Well, I've gotten 4 bike rides in so far. Did 2 rides this week. Feel really good after the rides. I really haven't weighed myself since the challenge at work started. So I really don't know how I'm doing. Guess I'll weigh myself tomorrow morning. Hope everyone is having a good week so far.

Hello everyone. It has been since last fall that I was on here and I am really showing it on the scale. But I am working on getting back on track. I am now a stay at home mom so I am hoping that will help me to be more successful. I now have more time to work out and wont have the temptation from my co-workers. I wish you all the best!

Hey all, sorry I haven't been around in a while. School has been my main priority lately. I have only 4 weeks left then I start my internship on May 14th. The next couple of weeks is gonna be hell as well...I have an IV Therapy class on Monday and Wednesday and the class is 3 hours away. I also have 2 labs that week..one on Thursday and one on Friday and those are 2 hours away. Needless to say, I'll be staying overnight for those. Then, I have the IV class again the following week on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, then I'll be done with that one (short and sweet). Then one more lab the last week of the month and the last day of class is the 4th of May. THEN, maybe I can get some sort of feasible plan that I can stick to. To top it all off, Hubby and I are both recovering from the stomach flu...yuk! I hope everyone's doing well!

I still plan on dragging the family down next weekend for the 5k. I hope to see a lot of you there!!!

Good day everyone. Hope you all had a great weekend. Hubby took me out to dinner Saturday night and we went to W.W. Peppers. They have great food. I had their Chicken burrito.

Yvonne, are we doing the Pikes Peak Challenge? I haven't seen any other info from you on it if we are doing it. Let me know.

With going on a small trip to Mesquite a couple of weeks back and then going out to dinner this weekend, I have put on 2 pounds. Which isn't bad, thought it would have been more. But I'm not going to let it get me down.

Well hope everyone has a great day. Talk to you all later.

Hi every one. Sorry that I haven't been on for a while. Just trying to get going on the challenge at work. I set a 20 pound goal for the 7 weeks of the challenge

Yvonne, I was wondering if you figured out how many steps for the Pikes Peak Challenge is? If I did my math right it is about 7, 049 steps. The hike up Pikes Peak is 2.67 miles and there is about 2640 steps in a mile (depends on your stride length).

Have a great day, talk to you all later.

Hi everyone!

sorry I haven't been around. it was taking me a while to find my grounding again. but I'm back at it with a vengeance LOL a friend of mine has talked me into trying to get our endurance up enough to do the Highline Hustle Sprint. If you haven't heard of it its a mini triathlon, though to me it doesn't sound mini at all! 500 meter swim ( = to; 20 consecutive laps. I did the math lol ) 16 mile bike ride & 3.1 mile run.. WOW. I'm starting a running program tomorrow, after a few weeks of that I will concentrate on the swimming and hopefully the biking will fit in there somewhere too. the race is June 9th so I don't have much time to train but I'm going to try.

Congrats Linda on all you weight-loss your that's fantastic!! Great work!!

Carol sorry you have been stressed, hopefully getting back on track will help with that. I know it usually helps me.

Good luck to everyone on the Pikes Peak challenge and I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!!

Hi Yvonne, I would be interested in the Pikes Peak climb.

I started the Biggest Loser Challenge at work again. Today was weigh in day. I am at 223.6 pounds. In January of 2011 when I did the challenge then I started at 257.6. I am down 34 pounds since then. I am so happy.

Well, hope everyone is doing good. I'll talk to you all later.

Hey team, I am thinking about doing a Pikes Peak climb challenge for next month. To do it we would need to know how many steps you take each day. Do y'all have pedometers or be willing to pick one up at Wal-Mart? I think they are between 5 and 10 dollars. Please send me a Spark Mail if you are interested.

Hi all,
Sorry that I haven't been on much. Been pretty busy with work and things here at home. At work we have 3 extra clients from another group home living with us until theirs is re-modled. They should be going back in about 3 weeks from what I hear. They were only suppose to be with us 8 weeks, but the maintenance men at work seem to move slow at getting things done.

The oldest daughter text me earlier this week and said she made a mistake and moved out to Chicago. The people she lives with are giving her problems. So I told her she can come back home. She has to wait till she gets her pay check next week. Which will be either Thursday or Friday. So she should be back around the 29th if the weather holds out. If she can make it to Denver she can stay at her sisters house until the roads are better.

Any one else doing the early blood draw for the 9 Health Fair? Hubby and I are going tomorrow morning at 8:20. We do it every year. I can't wait to see what the results are. I've been on this lower Carb eating for about 8 months now. I want to see how it has affected some of the levels.

Hope every one is having a good week. Take care and talk to you all later.

Poo Baaa - my pedometer decided to stop working. How will I survive??

Ordered a new one from Amazon.com - they have a promotional right now that if you apply for one of their cards (Visa I think), they will load $40.00 onto your Amazon account. Since my pedometer was $31.92 I still have over $8.00 in my account - think I will get books for my Kindle.

Anyway, what's to loose? You can cancel the card after you get the $40.00 if you don't want another card....

Hi all,

Well, the pecan pie turned out good. I did add about a half cup of coconut in it. At the grandson's request. Everyone liked it. I only had 1 small peice of pie. So I was happy with that.

Ragean, I'm glad that your foot is getting better.

Yvonne, When I bike ride it ranges from a couple of miles to 20+ miles. As for exercise I have been doing the Biggest Loser disk for the Wii. And walking. Saturday we did a 2.25 mile walk. It was chilly but nice.

Hope everyone is doing good. Talk to you all later.

Pecan pie is easy! You won't have any problems, except for the eating part.....that's my weakness when baking pie..I must also eat it!!! And pecan is one of my favorites!

My foot is getting better every day and I'm hoping to be able to walk to the post office and back sometime this weekend. It's mostly sore in the mornings and right around bed time (maybe because it's worn out!). Anyway, it's to the point where I can put my full weight on it all day with little pain. I even managed to do some time on my elliptical on Thrus and Fri. Maybe by Monday, I'll be back to 60 minutes! We'll see. I'll take "baby steps".

Hi All,

Regan- Just take it easy with your foot. I know it is frustrating when you have a plan made out and then something goes worng. You'll get back to your schedule soon enough.

I am finially pretty much back on track with my eating. Now just need to get back on tack with exercising more. I have been walking more on the treadmill, but need to do other exercises.

The oldest grandson graduated from Marines Bootcamp last weekend. Him and his girlfriend are coming over Sunday for a BBQ. Going to do elk burgers, mashed potatoes, he also wants corn on the cob, but I hate the frozen corn on the cob. And also a pecan pie. So I am going to be busy tomorrow baking a pie for him. I've never done a pecan pie, so I hope it turns out good.

Well, hope every one had a wonderful week. I'll talk to you all later.

I'm so frustrated! I made out a schedule for myself so I can get everything done that I need to from day to day including an hour devoted to cardio and strength training. It was going beautifully until I went to the Dr to get my foot looked at. Turns out I have a plantar wart on the bottom of my left foot and the Dr froze it. Now, I'm having troubles walking. According to what I've researched, it's going to take at least a week to heal. Plus, I may have to have one more treatment to be totally rid of it. I guess, I'll just have to find another way to get in my cardio every day. GRRRRR!

Well, I am finally getting back on track. I am keeping my carb limit between 30-150 grams a day. The higher one is when I'm with hubby, and then I try and keep it below 100 when it's just me. I don't do the real low one, unless I really want to drop weight fast. I am also getting back in to exercising with the Wii.

I hope every one is having a great week. Talk to you all later.

Yvonne, Kelly and I had a good visit on Saturday morning! hope some of you will join us next month.

Linda: I'm really going to start watching my carbs too, not specifically going for a 'low carb' diet but keeping them to a moderate amount. The more I eat the more I want!! I also notice that I get more sluggish, cranky and bloated when I've had alot of carbs in my diet that day.

Sarah: I have the same experience with pizza! And as you said most fast food.

Spent most of my weekend preparing for the start of school this week, got everything taken care of with my financial aid, books etc. Paid bills, went grocery shopping. Finally got over to the VA to find out the status of my application, after conveying to the sweet lady at the reception desk that I was there for a *patient* application rather than an *employment* application, I found out that I'm eligible and already in the system WOOT - just need to get in for an initial appointment - this is amazing, enourmous, great news!

Yesterday we went out of town with the kids, got to soak in a hot springs during a snow storm - AMAZING, enjoyed some good food and visited some shops. It was a great trip.

My scale was up this morning, a bummer but not totally unexpected. Note to self: Don't send your husband to the store with the instructions "I want snacks" HA! We've continued our twilight walks around the neighborhood with the kids and my eliptical is now fixed! The rest of this week is going to be a true test of organization and priority setting.

Hi everyone! I hope that those of you that made it to the team meeting on saturday had a good visit and walk. I'm sorry that I missed it, this pregnancy doesn't let me sleep very well at night and I over slept. Which is still so unsually because my kiddos are usually up by 7 at least but they slept in till after 8. I'll try to be at the next one...

The last few weeks I have really been working on modifying what I eat and I have discovered that although I love pizza it doesn't love me. After not having it for a couple of weeks I thought we would cheat and order pizza for the Bronco Game and I paid for it all night and the next day. Funny how we know something isn't really good for us and yet we still crave it. I actually think it's all fast foods and sodas for me. Which is a good thing cause all I need to do now is ignore the cravings.

Well Hope that you all have a wonderful week!

Hi All,
Hope everyone had a great weekend. Spent most of it reading and exercising for about 45 minutes each day. Didn't work out this morning. Woke up with a sinus headache. So took it easy. Will get on the Wii and do the Biggest loser work out. We did the full body one on Saturday. Might do it again tomorrow. It is a good work out. We did the 28 minute one and of course the warm up exercise and the cool down exercise.

Trying to really watch the carbs I eat. I notice that when I eat more carbs then I usually have been eating, I feel bloated and just sluggish. And I gain weight. So going to have to really watch what I have.

Well, talk to you all later.

Linda

I miss our Biggest Looser Challenge. Probably should have continued it this month with the good start everyone is getting. I did stay the same. Have to see what changes I have to make to loose some weight. I need to get back down to the over-weight category.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Hi all,
Well, I've got to really get back in to watching how much carbs I eat. I've gained about 7 pounds. But with watching the carbs the last couple of days, I have lost 2.7 pounds already. My goal for this next 12 weeks is to lose 20 pounds. So I am really going to really start working out again in the mornings. This challenge that is going on is going to help me alot.

Well, hope everyone had a great New Years day, Talk to you all later.

Looking forward to the New Year. Posted a couple of sites under "AMAZING Blogs, Stories, Articles etc." to check into for motivation. You might want to check them out if you want a little extra push to get started.

I am so excited to get started again. That last couple of months went quite well. Thanks for all your support and encouragement. Looking forward to sharing experiences with all of you this year. Let's go!!!

Wow, I am really behind! Not even going to try and catch up other than to say congratulations to MrsRachels and happy belated anniversary to Yvonne!

The school semester ended and overall I am pleased with my performance, even though I know I could have done better in a few areas. The Christmas holiday was chaos as usual but it was great fun and my daughter had a good 16th birthday! My husband and older girls went in together and got me a LOKI Jacket - LOVE IT!

I am concentrating on my health again over the break. As well as ways to keep my exercise and good eating habits up once school begins again.

Hope everyone had a great holiday and enjoys a wonderful New Year!

Hope everyone had a good Christmas. The only thing we lacked was snow - smile.

Haven't felt good all month so we did most of our shopping on Amazon. I couldn't believe the good deals they had. They will probably see us every year. Didn't get much baking and candy making done. Two dear GD's help with what was done. We all enjoyed doing it.

Looking forward to a New Year, new goals, and a new start. So far I have gained less than a lb. since the first of November. I'll take that anytime.

Hi everyone!
Well, the youngest daughter and her family will be up Christmas Eve. They are heading for his sisters house up by Salt Lake City. So we will have them Saturday night and then when they stop back over on their way home.

We are going to do Prime Rib Roast, Shrimp, Scallops with fried Zucchini and thinking of also doing Yorkshire Pudding. This is totally different from what we usually do. So I am going to make a Cheese Cake for dessert. It's going to be nice to have family over for part of the holiday. So far even my brother that lives here in Grand Junction said he'll come over. I can't believe it.

So this week I will be doing baking for home. And make some fudge for my husbands work. I still need to get rest of my shopping done. I'm a little over half way done.

Tomorrow I get to go to Pantuso's for lunch with my work. We are having a little party for Christmas. Then my boss gets to go to Hawaii on Monday. Wish I could go. This cold weather has been bugging my left shoulder and my right knee. So I've been dressing in layers.

Well, hope everyone is having a great week. Talk to you all later....

Hi,
The kids parents will be home tomorrow. emoticon

We made dough ornaments and painted them over the weekend. They turned out good.

I've been shopping at Amazon. Hadn't shopped on the internet before but will do it more in the future. Something good has come out of not feeling good. The presents started arriving yesterday. What fun.

I need to start baking and candy making - Bishops Bread and Candied Walnuts and Pecans.
Hope everyone is enjoying the holidays.

Hi everyone. Busy time of year and extra busy for Yvonne with keeping the grandkids for 5 days. Have fun with all the extra excitement and hope you're feeling better. I've been baking too Linda. Our kids are coming this weekend to celebrate then they have their own Christmas and with in-laws on Christmas. Made pies and rolls yesterday. We had our party for work last Saturday. I made 2 pans of rainbow jello using red and green jellos. It's always a big hit and have a whole pan for when the kids come. I also made peanut brittle and some caramels. I'm allowing myself one a day. They are SOOO yummy! Need to stay on task this week. Hope everyone else is too. Definitely not easy!

Hello Everyone,
Well, I've been keeping busy doing baking for work this weekend. We are having a party on Wednesday. So I made a Chocolate Zucchini Cookie and something called a Blarney Stone. It's a cake that you cut in to small squares and frost and roll in chopped peanuts. My mom use to make them ever Christmas when I was young. I had found her recipe for them and deceided to make them last year. And made them again this year. Going to make another batch of the Blarney Stones for us. The youngest daughter and her husband and her son are coming up from Aurora Christmas Eve, staying the night and then heading for his sisters house up by Salt Lake City. So I have more baking to do for us.Going to be busy this coming weekend and next week.

Hope everyone is having a great day. Talk to you later.

Our DIL grandmother passed away back east. They are leaving tomorrow and we will have their 5 kids for about a week. On top of that I have a cold. We will miss our church Christmas Dinner due to not feeling good :-(. Thank goodness we have our house decorated and most of the Christmas shopping done. Should still have time after they get back for baking.

Hope everyone is well and keeping up with everything you have to do.

Happy Anniversary Yvonne!

Sorry I've been MIA for a while. Been busy with work and home. Over the Thanksgiving week, I gained 5.5 pounds!!! But good news, I have lost 2 pounds of it already. I can't wait to see what I weigh tomorrow morning.

Work has been busy. They are re-modeling one of the group homes, so we have 3 extra clients on our group home plus an extra staff on both day and swing shift. And also have had some classes for work that I had to go to. So really haven't had time to get on. I am hoping that this month will be different.

Hope everyone is doing good and will talk to you all later. Have a great day.

Yesterday was our 54th anniversary. We went to the gym and exercised. We are enjoying doing things together again. Went to dinner at Carino's. I knew it would be a calorie heavy day but enjoyed every bite of it. One day doesn't loose the battle. Right back on track today. My weight should still be lower than last weeks.

Looking forward to a good month.

Rachel this is such an exciting time in your life. Babies are such a blessing (especially for the grandparents lol). I have also found the the calories SP allows are too high for me also. I didn't realize that the calorie allowance would jump so high, especially when you just become pregnant. I can't see that trying the 1800 would hurt anything. Why not try it and see how it goes. You can always adjust it as you go along. I hope you are feeling well and this will be a good pregnancy without any problems.
emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

We have had each of four grandchildren overnight this week (one at a time). The youngest gets to stay overnight next week. Two of them got to help fix Thanksgiving dinner. We enjoyed working together. I always take them out to lunch when they stay with us. One of them wanted to have lunch at home. That was a surprise. They got to exercise with us too. I think I will be using the P-90 a lot through Christmas. With so much to do for Christmas, it is easier to use an exercise video first thing in the morning and now have to worry about finding time to go to the gym. I would still like to get to the gym whenever I can fit it in.

Looking forward to this coming month to see what it has to offer, especially what I will be doing to not put on any weight. Join us in the special Forums for December. Wishing everyone has a good, healthy month.

Hi All

well I have big new ( for me anyway lol ) I'm pregnant! after a year of throwing the idea back and forth we finally just jumped in. I took a home pregnancy test Thanksgiving morning and it was positive We had lots to be thankful for at my house :)

My last pregnancy was not so easy. I did a lot of bed rest and did not eat healthy at all. I gained a whopping 60lb. I refuse to do that to my body again!! I joined SP sister sight for pregnancy BabyFit but I'm really disappointed. for whatever reason they haven't just transferred the huge data base of food they have hear over there. so I have had to manually enter a TON. And the fitness section is really paired down too. they only have a detailed list of pregnancy strength workouts the cardioid is just a ticker ( like the water ticker thing ) I really don't understand why its missing so much. they seem to have the info right here why not transfer it? So anyway I think I will still be here on SP because the BabyFit is just really not going to be that helpful for me. I have been dieting for so long switching to maintain is making my head spin lol I really need to stay ontop of counting my calories not because I want to diet but because I don't want to go crazy and go way over again.
my calorie ranged trying to lose always seemed a bit high. I was supposed to be eating 1400-1600 but I never lost weight at that range if I kept it closer to 1300 I lost. so their recommendation is now 2000 - 2300 and I thinking that's going to be to high I think 1800 is going to be better for me?..what do ya think?

Sorry to ramble a bit I have a lot on my mind lol. I hope everyone is well and had a wonderful thanksgiving!!

Hi all! sorry I missed the 5k it would have been fun to meet you all! I'll be there for sure if we do another one

well we are finally all moved in and trying to get settled. so far we really like the place. new carpets and new flooring really makes a place feel new and its nice to be a little closer to everything. I know one thing for sure, I'm certainly not going to miss the Clifton city market!!

Surprisingly enough all the fast food over the past week hasn't bitten me on the behind. I somehow managed to maintain all week yay!! now I can get back to my routine and back to focusing on my goal. I actually miss the gym quite a bit! my shoulder made it though moving ok so I think I can brave Zumba and if that goes well I might even try Body Pump. I have missed my workouts its so nice to have an hour to get away from everything.

Anyway I hope everyone is doing well!

It was a nice morning for the 5k. I did enjoy meeting others from here. Would like to do it again. And maybe a bike one for the ones who bike ride.

Hope every one had a good day.

I'm so excited about the 5k and meeting other Sparkers that I woke up at 5:00am this morning. You would think I was a kid at Christmas lol. DH and I rode our bikes yesterday to set the course. It is a good thing that I have been riding the bike at the gym. We just zipped right along. It was a beautiful day and felt so good to be outside and moving.

Looking forward to seeing whoever can make it.

I'm looking forward to the 5K tomorrow! I've been rather sparkless lately and am very thankful for the rl contact with my sparkteam members, The second Saturday meetings and this *first* 5K. It is helping me keep the health aspect of my life in sight even while everything else is so dang crazy. I really do think (hope) November will be a little less hectic and am hoping to maybe even blog a little next month - I've been missing that!!!

I don't know why but I haven't been getting notified when someone posts to this forum. I would have loved to go to the Zumba class (but not for 3 hours lol).

Sorry to hear about your sciatica Rachel. Doing a warm-up and then stretching might help your calf muscles. Hope your move goes smoothly. That is a lot of work and stressful too.

We have several girls (and DH's) going on the 5k. Sounds like we will have a good time and the weather is supposed to be good too. I think some kids will be there too.

Hi everyone!

Sorry I missed the meeting we are in the process of moving so things have been a bit crazy.

Thats whats happening with me, We really wanted out of Clifton so jumped on a place our landlord had available. but we are losing a beautiful back yard and big roomy bathrooms. and allover just a nicer house. we gain a better location and a better school for Will once he starts which is more important, all the same its been a hard move. we really like this house a lot we don't want to leave it... anyway

Margie I'd love to join you I LOVE zumba but that's a bit to late for me but you should really go zumba is such a fun work out.

Speaking of zumba I cant go to my regular class :( I don't know whats wrong with me. I'm hopping its just stress and will all go away once we get all moved in but my sciatica has really been acting up and now something is going on with my shoulder, I keep getting this really painful stabbing feeling when I work it. I tried to do the class and just not use that shoulder but it really just threw me off. I don't think I got much of a workout that day. I was thinking of spinning and running a bit today I don't know though the last few days I have also had a big knot in my calf lol I know I'm just a hot-mess. I guess we will see how it goes, I hate just not working out at all. it feels like I will start to really slip if I do that. but I think my body is screaming at me to lay off for a bit

Hi All,
Sorry that I missed the meeting last Saturday. Saturdays are usually spent with my husband. Since he works days and I work swing shift. We don't get to see each other that much. So we spend Saturday together. I would love to meet people from here. If any one wants to get together during the week, I can make it in the mornings after 9:30am and up to 1pm Monday-Thursday, Friday any time will do since it is my day off.

I'm holding on my weight right now. I now what I need to do, but just haven't set my mind to do it. Hope everyone is doing good. Well, I will talk to you all later.

Have a great weekend. emoticon

Linda

Just take it one day at a time. We all can do it. And we will.

Wow, this past month has really passed by quickly. Can you believe that it's already the 2nd Saturday of October (tomorrow)?! And we all know what that means, right? It's time for our monthly team get together downtown!! Last month we were joined by Sarah and Kelly, I'd love to meet some of you other team members!

Hi everybody - I, too, have been MIA most of the summer it seems. We had a great summer but very busy. Every weekend I wasn't working, we were off to other places. Didn't get a whole lot of trips on the ATV and probably won't now - more busy weekends. Most of our weekends involve our kids and family - LOVE it! However, the downside is that I have gained 5 pounds back AAGHHHH! I have spent minimal time with SP and it shows. My new (or old) resolution is to log my food and spend more time on SP.
I have been sidelined by a bad knee this last month. My MRI did not show a tear, just lots of inflammation and chondromalacia. I had some fluid drained off it yesterday and steroid injected. Hopefully this will speed up the healing. I don't know how many of you watch Biggest Loser, but I was inspired last night by the gal who has a hurt knee and still lost like 17 pounds or something unreal. So it can be done! I just need to refocus and change it up.

Anyway - have a great week everybody and I'll be checking in more often and joining the challenges.

Hi All,
Well this past weekend hubby and I did a 22.2 mile bike ride. Was a really nice ride. Hopefully this weekend and next week I can get in a couple more rides before it gets to cold.

Rachel- try cutting down on the carbs some. I've found out that doing that, I have lost weight easier then just watching the calories and working out.

Well, hope everyone is having a good week. Got to get going and get ready for work.

Talk to you all later.

Hi All

Yes I still linger here a bit lol I know I have been MIA my computer is having issues and no longer like SP for some reason all the pages take forever to load.

Anyway I'm stuck here at 160 I haven't made any progress in over a month so I'm to the point that I have decided the only way I'm going to make it to my goal is to increase my workout I just don't see cutting my calories even more. so my new goal is to add 3 more workouts to my typical 4 workouts...the big question is what.

Do you think I can log swimming under strength training there is a bit of resistance?

Have a Great time on your retreat Yvonne! I am sure it will be a much needed break.

Linda, If you are interested in group biking activities, there is a local meet up group called Western Slope Adventurers who put alot of bike riding activities on their calendar. Let me know if you want contact info.

Things just seem to be getting busier everyday! I always intend to do more sparking than I actually do but it just falls by the wayside :( I have been hiking a couple times a week and am very thankful for the cooler temps recently. At some point I'll blog some more pictures or I may just put up links to my facebook album. Havent decided yet.

Hope everyone is doing well this first day of October.

Anyone who wants to come and walk part of the 5k can still come and join us. We will have it start on the trail in back of Albertsons on Broadway. If you have any questions, let me know.

I will move the Pushup Challenge up to where you can see it tomorrow. The September Pushup Challenge will still be available, just click on "See More Topics" and it will be there.

I will also be gone this weekend. Going to a Ladies Retreat in Glenwood Springs. Looking forward to it. Hope y'all have a good weekend.

Hi All,
Sorry that I've been MIA..... Oldest daughter had came back from Oklahoma City at the end of last month. Also been busy with hauling firewood in for this winter. We are thinking about getting one more load this weekend.

Hubby and I did a 9.6 mile bike ride on Saturday. I started doing my Wii again this morning. I'm hoping to get one or two more rides in this week. Thinking of parking off of 29road and riding to the end of the trail past Corn Lake and back. Will more then likely do it on Wednesday and then another ride on Thursday. Meeting a friend for lunch tomorrow and then metting friends for lunch on Friday.

My next goal is to lose 26 pounds by New Years Day.

Hope everyone is having a great day. Talk to you all later.

Ali - hope you can make it next month also. It will be here soon.

I'm having a hard time remembering to do my pushups. I did get them done 4 days this week. I will not give up. I'm also spending more time exercising - yay!!!

Had a great time at the team meeting Saturday. It is great to meet with others that have the same goals. We will continue meeting the 2nd Saturday of each month. Would love to meet more members, so put it on your calendar for October. Check out the pictures that JR took.

Sorry I haven't been very active in the team lately. Just as I thought life was getting back on track and I could really focus on losing weight. But I just found out that I am pregnant so I won't be very active for oh probably about 8 months.... But I'm going to continue to use Spark people to keep my weight gain in check, and to give encouragement when I can. Good luck to everyone for the next couple of months.

I've had a rough week but lost 2/10ths of a pound. Every little bit helps. At least I stopped putting that much on every week. Haven't been able to get to the gym but will go today.

Hope everyone has a fun weekend.

Last night Mom told me she wants to go shoe shopping today. She hasn't gotten dressed in over a month and hasn't been out of the house for about 3 months. Last night I got about 5 hours of sleep worrying about here. I don't know what I'm going to do.

Yvonne, the deer seemed to be all over the place this past weekend when I drove back from Buena Vista. I had two close calls and felt very lucky to get home without an accident!

I'm working on putting together a blog on my trip and hike up Mt. Yale. It was tough and pretty amazing. I think my daughter and I were the slowest ones on the trail lol! Was hoping to get it all posted today but I managed to stand up beneath a cupbord door that was open last night and I'm pretty sure I have a (not so mild) concussion. My vision was funny, I was dizzy and sick to my stomach. My head still hurts this morning and I still feel a little 'off'.

Classes started yesterday and so far so good!

Hope everyone has a great day!
