Absolutely! You are not alone, I've been fighting depression myself and gained back ten pounds I lost last year. So I'm starting over again with you.

Good deal on the emoticon , a very nice start! Hope you have free time to ride again this weekend. The fresh air & sunshine coupled with exercise is a good anti-depressant, too! (It seems like here in Arizona one can get SAD-Seasonal Affective Disorder during summer because the heat is so intense we stay out of the abundant sunshine.) Thank goodness the worst is behind us for this year.

Have you considered taking something natural to help you with the depression? B-vitamins can help with stress and fatigue, while fish oil is good for moods and attention. Just a suggestion as these are some of the things I've found helpful.

I've been away from sparkpeople for a few weeks. I was just getting so depressed that I wasn't losing (actually gained back the little bit that I did lose when I first started on sparkpeople). I guess I just gave up. I'm back now and am hoping to get motivated again.

I have weened myself of my medication that was increasing my appetite and therefore causing me to gain weight. But now I'm depressed about that because of the way I feel when I'm not on the medication. They were anti-depressents and since I started cutting back 3 weeks ago I have not been myself. The first week I was VERY grumpy. And now the last 2 weeks I feel like I want to cry all the time (plus I'm still very grumpy). I feel worse now than I did before I ever started taking the pills! I don't want to take them anymore because of all the side effects. I'm just hoping my body will get used to not having the drugs in me and I'll get back to myself. The big question is whether my hubby can stand me long enough for that to happen!

Anyway, I really want to see the weight come off. I have never been one to exercise at all, but last week I started riding my bike and rode it 2 1/2 miles 4 times last week. Not a huge distance, but it's a start. But this week I just haven't had the motivation and haven't ridden at all. I hope to ride this weekend.

So, today is a new day and hopefully the (re)start of a new lifestyle!
