Good to have you back, Louise! So glad you are feeling better -- seems it's just in time to celebrate your special day. Happy Birthday! emoticon emoticon Glad you're enjoying the dance...

Haven't done much over the weekend, migraine was back, seems to be a monthly occurrence, guess that means my hormones are out of whack, yikes! It is nearly gone now so I am looking forward to this coming week. I may take a hike tomorrow since I missed my usual weekend one.

How's everyone else doing?

How is everyone? I have not posted in a while. I think I am finally over pneumonia. Lately, I have been resting, relaxing and reading. I have not been able to catch up on my reading in a while and this I did. Today I am back dancing as exercise and it made me happy to be able to exercise again. I had been taking it easy so I could get over the pneumonia. I love dancing. This week I might try going out and walking. I love to walk even though I am slow at it. Well, what did everyone do today?
GOD BLESS!
Louise

Thanks for understanding about my son leaving. I just want him to be happy but it sure is strange not seeing him everyday. It was his birthday this week, too. Now my daughter is planning on moving out as well. With my son going, the 1,000 mile distance was a big concern but with her it is age, barely 18. emoticon At least she'll be nearby but I feel bad for my youngest; it's going to be lonely for her. Ah well, new seasons of life for us all.

Speaking of seasons, what's going on with this weather?! Nighttime lows dropped back into the 30s last night, br-r-r. I don't want to complain too much though, I know what's coming in May. LOL, just thinking about the coming heat can start a sweat.
emoticon

Happy Valentines Day, everyone! May your hearts not only be happy but healthy, too! emoticon

Graceinaz. I totally understand what you mean about feeling mopey that your son moved out. My son moved out last March and it was pretty tough for me. As a matter of fact that was the worst week of my life. On that Monday my daughter told me she was pregnant and planned on keeping her baby. I was devestated but felt that she was mature enough to know what she wanted to do. She was 20 at the time and going to MCC. Then my son informs me on Friday that he is moving out. I handeled his friends coming in and taking all his belongings out of the house pretty well and even helped. But when he finally left in his packed car I felt such a sense of loss. Saturday at work I just broke down and cried and cried. I couldn't stop for about 5 minutes. Then I was fine. I redid my makeup and never looked back. My grandson is beautiful and I am amazed at how great my daughter is with him. My son lives in Chandler and is doing great. He talks about moving back home maybe in March. I hope he does but I don't see him really wanting to.
Hang in there. My son has learned alot and he is doing just fine. Yours will too!

this is the start of something great

I understand...giving up on Babies is hard no matter what their age. But it will get easier and better when they start to come back to visit!!! Hang in there!

Have now hit two goals! Over one year of not smoking and am below the 150lb mark! Just hit my third goal, under 140lbs! 03/27/09 hit the 50 pounds lost goal!

I made it out this evening, but only because DH actually made me go with him... I'm on target for the week because of it. YAY! Now I can crash...

The cold is sure hard to take with dampness and wind. emoticon I wimped out and did a walking video plus 5 min of a dance video. LOL, all I did of the dance video was the how-to and most of it was too hard to follow properly. Oh well, I tried! Still need to do my circuits but have to run out to daughter's choral performance tonight. emoticon

Did I tell you all my oldest son moved out and away this past weekend? I miss him a lot, and have admittedly been a bit mopey. But I want him to be happy more than anything; overall I think this will be a good experience for him. It's just so far. emoticon

If this evening is as cool and wet as last night, I will be up on the treadmill. I handle hot a heck of a lot better than cold.

Yeah it was... I did have to go out this morning. Luckily it was in the 40s.... not too bad... Now I have to stay motivated and go for another walk/run this evening so I'm on target for my cardio for the week....

Except that it's killing my cardio today! DH & I are supposed to be walking this evening. It's rainy and windy so unless it dies down we're going to put that idea on the back burner....

May have to do an extra walk tomorrow to make up for it... which means I'll have to drag myself out of the house in the cold morning air... BLAH!!!!

I agree - we all seem very motivated...

Consistency, consistency, consistency. emoticon

It was great to see all the discussion, and I think we have a very motivated team here. I'm very much inspired by the dedication not to mention the results you all are getting.

I am still dealing with this water weight...think I'll have to drink some dandelion tea these next few days and see if that helps any...can't take this tummy bloat anymore, very uncomfortable.

Damp & chilly out but can't complain about the much-needed rain.

I think consistancy is the key to weight loss. you have to find what works for you and what doesn't and it certainly is a process. I too feel horrible when I eat pasta rice and bread but you just gotta have it once in a while, if for nothing else to remind yourself why you are avoiding it! Also if you do "mess up" the hardest thing to do is jump back into it the very next day. But you gotta do it! Don't look back unless it is to learn something to carry you forward.

this is the start of something great

I think all of us have different approaches. I stick to 3x week weights (body weight for areas I can't do at home with hand weights), 6x week cardio for at least 30 minutes. Cardio varies depending on season, but can include: pilates, bicycling, walking, jogging or any combination of the above. As far as food goes, I've not cut anything out, except refined sugar - I've learned that combined with high starch foods it will give me a sinus headache very quickly. I eat very little pasta, rice and bread but I eat them when I want them.

Fingers crossed for you RKSpicy!

Same here with a bum knee. But can do the treadmill.. which is part of it. 2x a week for one hour with a personal trainer weight lifting with cardio in between and 4x a week on my treadmill now up to 3% incline at 4 pace for 35 to 60 minutes. Then the first part of the food for me was no soda or beer!!! That was huge for me and then no "White" food, you know no white rice, no white bread, no white sauces or dressings...etc. And portions, plus snacks got to love those Blue Diamond 100 calorie Almonds. Go once a week/give or take to a real weight in and think the accountabily was a big one too...and am getting B12 shots when I do go for a weight in. There you go my Secret to my weight lost!!!

Yeah, me either. I found going up & down the staircase too hard on my knee, thankfully I can hike hills without any pain.

Pulling for you on this coming weigh-in, RKSPICY! Care to share how you've come this far? You've come so far in really good time. :)

We didn't watch the whole game (neither hubby nor I is big on football), but we did watch the last couple minutes. Wow what a nailbiter!

Yeah, that was hard after such a close and exciting game! They sure did make us proud though! emoticon Yay Cardinals!

Way to go on resisting the cake, and 2.2 lb loss is the best reward, methinks.

Hey there everyone! What a bummer about our beloved Cardinals! boo hoo emoticon oh well, we gotta move on! I stayed on track 80% yesterday which believe me was tough. There was my absolute favorite cake at my nieces superbowl party but I did not have one single bite of it! I was able to keep to my diet and today I was down 2.2 pounds emoticon emoticon
that was motivation enough to make me go for a run tonight. I went to Westwood High School and did 2.1 miles and two sets of bleachers. I feel amazing!

Welcome to a new week and a new month! February is moving us further into the new year; likewise we continue on towards our goals allowing our new selves to emerge month by month.

Please stop in and let us know how it's going.

Although I'm not beating myself up over it, I am hoping to stay on the straight & narrow path after yesterday's indulgements. Translate: 2 many superbowl treats.
