Thanks SUPERDUPER26 for that information. You gave me something to think about that could work. I'm trying to stay warm this winter; don't like the cold. I do like PB, too!

I dont know of anything else that can be injected like glucagon, and my insurance also thinks its a snobby brand-name drug that should be covered sparingly....
However, I know that my co-pay is per prescription though, not a percentage of total cost, so if my doctor writes the prescription for 2 at a time (with x-many refills) I get 2 for the same co-pay, and then there's always a back-up on hand so I always have one ready to use if need be.

Hope this helps, good luck!

Hi everybody! Hope all are doing well. I have 2 topics I want to mention.

apidra insulin --- The manufacturer has extended the free copay discount card to
December 31, 2013. check out sanofi-aventis website

Glucagon. ------- Well, I had a low hypoglycemic episode last night. I fell asleep on the couch without checking my BG first. Luckily, my daughter noticed me before going to bed.
So, the glucagon brought me to consciousness from my BG of 26 and a bit of juice, too.
Not that I would want another BG less than 30, I need to get a refill on my glucagon Rx.

The problem: Is there a lower price for glucagon than $90.00? My insurance classifies this medicine as a non-formulary drug on a 3 tier system. If it was on the formulary list, I believe I would be paying $45.00. I wonder if there is a generic? Probably not.
Maybe I should be thankful that my insurance covers some part of the price. I think without insurance, it might be around $140.00.
So, I am wondering if there are any other cheaper anti-hypoglycemic medicines out there.

Any thoughts on this will be appreciated. Thank you : )
