I would agree with Valerie. Maybe it's time to start some new family traditions that include healthy activities instead of the focus being on food. I know easier said that done. :)

Wishing you well.

It's not right to let your family sabotage your health or your plans.

If you can't cook their favorites and stay on your plan (just a taste should be ok!), then reinvent their favorites into healthier options.

Or, take the most loving, self-preserving stance and tell them you'll celebrate their visits by spending quality time with them, and skip the cooking all together.

Food is not love! There will always be holidays, visits, etc. and you need to find a way to maintain a healthy lifestyle for yourself, so you'll live long enough to enjoy the occasions.

It has been a disappointing week all around. My diabetic team increased my long lasting insulin and my regular again trying to get my glucose count under control itís still higher than it should be. Family visiting so I've been cooking for guest. Made Homemade Halloween treats plusÖ Everyone has favorite foods that I traditionally make when family visits and not wanting to disappoint, I made banana pancakes with homemade blueberry syrup, my homemade special Italian sausage, biscuits and sausage gravy, green chile beef stew, my roasted chicken w/ root vegetables and gravy and my homemade wheat rolls. This coming weekend we have more family visiting including grandchildren they've already requested their favorites. Jambalaya, cinnamon rolls blueberry pancakes, homemade caramels, candy corn, biscuits and my peach pineapple jam, homemade bread, tortillas enchiladas, refried beans, Spanish rice and calabacitas. Not to mention a Birthday cake for my son-in-law. I love to cook for my family and I love that they have their favorites but it kills my weight loss plan. HELP!

Wed. OCT. 10th- Checked my AC1 went form 9 nine months ago to 6.6 finally some good news. All the tracking and work was not for-not after all
My glucose # are still high, Fasting # first thing in he mornings still to high any ideas?
