Congratulations! I like that you are celebrating your diagnosis and diabetes! I do the same, I feel that it was a blessing in disguise because I am now extremely healthy and really focus on my body and health. One week from tomorrow is my 5 year anniversary and my college graduation! When I was diagnosed I decided to focus on school because life is short and I wanted to make my life the best it could be...now here I am 5 years later and ironically the graduation falls on my anniversary. :)

Valerie,
Congrats that you do not have any complications! This year will be my 31st year of being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and I do not have any complications as well. Keep up the good work because it shows us if you can manage this disease, you can live a long time without any problems.

Take Care
Roz

I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes 19 years ago today.

I'm happy, healthy and don't have a single complication. I'm thankful I've got a disease that encourages me to take better care of myself.

I'm tackling my final personal dissatisfaction, which is my weight. I've lost nearly 20 pounds since mid-February. I'm on a journey to finally shed the pounds that I've been struggling with for the last several years and the tool I'm using is the Medifast diet. While a few more carbs than I'm used to, I'm thinking it's the boost my metabolism has been needing.

Cheers and good health,
Valerie
