Thanks for all of your view points so far! It really is helpful. I've only talked to the medtronic rep so far, and hopefully will talk to the omnipod rep next week. I do like the tubeless technology and the fact that it's waterproof. But I'm not sure I would like having a pod stuck on me at all times, and yes, forgetting the pdm is a very high possibility for me. I sometimes even forget my pens when we go out! Anyway, I still want to hear from both sides to help me with my decision. Thanks again all!

I have the mini med pump and I love it. for me it is great because I can have both the cgm and insulin pump all in one with no extra thing to carry around and also the durability of this pump is quite awsome. I like the tubing it is like a comfort blanket I can see the insulin in the tubing and know it is going in and with no air bubbles. I don't have to carry a PDM to bolus like the pods do and god knows I lose stuff ( on my third one touch pump meter in a yr ) and even if I lose my meter I can still use others but with the pod if you lose the pdm you are some what screwed or at least thats how i look at it. you have to see what each offers you pros and cons and figure out what is important to you.

I use the Minimed, and I like my pump but not the company (we just grate each other's nerves- Minimed and I- nobody else seems to have the same problems...).
Its got all the standard expected features, but its not waterproof, which would be my most favorite change they could make.
While I haven't used an Omnipod, the girl I know who has one LOVES it emphatically. Aside from the tubed/tubeless difference, they are treated different by insurance companies, so maybe ask your about the going rates and co-pays on both in case that will help you make a decision.

I am on my third MiniMed pump and really like it/them. I have non experience with the OmniPod, because my doctor deals with the MiniMed people. I'm interested to see what people have to say about the OmniPod. Thanks for asking this question.

I just got my pump last week. I researched the omni and the minimed. I went with the minimed b/c the infusion site is much smaller and easier to live with. You still have the bulky pump but you can move that around any time you want or detach it. I was also told that if you were near someone with an omni you could bolus them instead of yourself. That is farfetched but it could happen.

Good luck!

Hi Team! I am currently looking into getting an insulin pump (yay!) and I'm doing some research on a couple different pumps. Does anyone use the OmniPod? How about the minimed? Both? Which do you like better and why? I like the technology of the tubeless pump, but the traditional ones seem more "flexible" for everyday life. Opinions?
Thank you in advance for your assistance!!
