I rode in Phoenix in March and my sister (both of us are type 1) just rode last weekend in Texas. It is a super fun and well organized ride. Yay Tour de Cure!!!

Biking is my drug of choice! emoticon

Don't forget to test out your own biking abilities at your local Tour de Cure (ADA fundraiser)! I figure I ride every year because I can. Instead of moping around waiting for "other people" to do something, I take matters into my own hands : )

I know some cities are offering a "virtual" ride, so if you live where there isn't one, or you're booked up that weekend, you still have a chance to help make a difference.

Even if you're not interested in riding for the cause, there's a 12 week training plan that Gold's Gym put out this year this has a reasonably challenging strength/core component to it. Sure, its only 6 moves, but I know if I did them everyday it would make a difference!

That's awesome, Honey! My husband is a cyclist, but I've never gotten into it like he has. However, your post reminded me that I need to get off my butt and start riding again- even if it's only around town. :-)

I love to watch professional cycling and I'm so excited that the Tour of California is starting this weekend. I will be watching the guys race on Saturday. :-)

Did you know that there is a professional cycling team called Team Type 1? Not all, but some of the professional cyclists on the team are type 1 diabetics! It really inspires me to know that these professional athletes competing at the top of their game in an endurance sport are type 1s. If they can go out and race over 100 miles on Saturday and keep their BS in check, then I can surely get my butt on the elliptical every day.
