I got one of those once! It took a while to go away, so long actually that we starting referring to it as my "bean" (because thats what I thought it felt like), as in "Is your bean still there" and "How's your bean doing tonight?" and I regularly poked and prodded it to see if it was still there. Its gone now, but it took a few months to go away, although it didn't hurt after a week or so. Bodies are weird sometimes, eh?
Good luck with yours, if you get an answer as to why it happened let us know!

Thanks for sharing! I'm hoping that is all it was because I don't want to stop using humalog. The lump is still there, but the redness is down. I think I noticed bruising tonight though... wierd.

I had this happen to me one time before too. Let me tell you I was freaked out because I had never had any problems like that either! I had been on the pump for about 8 years as well with no problems. I went to the doctor and they said that it had just been in a nerve and swelled. The lump took a while to go away. I want to say it took a couple of weeks. I have not had any problems since then.

I've been using humalog since I started pumping (8 yrs ago) and never had a problem. However, I had a hard lump under the site I removed last week and it had a red ring around it and was VERY sore for days. The redness is gone but it's still sore to the touch and the lump is still there. Anyone else ever had similar problems? My aunt can't use humalog anymore because it did something like this to her. I don't see my endo until October, but will definitely mention it to him then, and will call sooner if I get any more of these lumps!
