I am allergic to the adhesive they use on the sets. so what I do is first I clean with an alcohol swab, then use Skin Prep which is a wipe like an alcohol swab, and then put down a piece of IV 3000 transparent dressing, and then put my infusion set through that.

You can probably get your pharmacist to order them. They come in individual packets in an orange and white box. They are made by Smith and Nephew. I have a bar code number here if this helps:

If the tape is really sticky, you can use these pads called "Remove" to loosen the adhesive.
It takes stickers off of kids' furniture, too! ;)

i get the red dot all the time! i also sometimes get a small puffy circle right around where the catheter goes in the skin. i wouldn't worry a bit, just keep it clean. :-)

Keep on keepin' on!

Yeah it was a redness from the tape, but it has gone down a lot. I have really sensitive skin so I think that's why it got so red!

Thanks for the advice

Is the redness from the tape? I react to tape if it has been on my skin for a few days and there isn't much I can do for it. I don't use tape for my infusion sets but use tape on my CGM sensor sites. Sometimes I will have a dark red dot so I wouldn't be too worried about that. Keep an eye on the site for a few days just to be safe.

Hi! Question:

So I am changing my site today, so I disconnected my pump and everything. Then I had a lot of trouble taking off the tape, it was super sticky. I finally got it off and pulled out the tubing. Now it is really red and there is a dark red dot (dried blood I presume) where the tubing was in the skin.

This is normal right?

Thanks!
