Hey Carey, that sounds like the pits! I've no experience with kidney stones and probably can't even properly sympathize, but I feel for you as best I can!

the ultrasound you are talking about is lipitripsy which i have had on mulitple occasions but you have to have a certain amount of time between each one and i just had it done in march ( I produce way to many stones 1 to 2 a month )it damages the kindney slightly it is like taking a kick to the kidney. so that is why I got the stent which i have till the 1st of june so great!! it is like labor for 2 weeks till the urter dilates from the stent then they remove it and hope the urter is big enough to pass the 3 stones. if not then surgery through my back to pull them out. I have taken enough pain meds in the last two weeks I swear I am going to really screw myself up with them. I mean I take them and then i am not hungry so no food litterlly i have eaten maybe 2000 calories total in 6 days. so not healthy. ugggh my blood sugars are still wacky but all i have used is the lantus till my sugar hits 250 then i cover the blood sugar with humalog. instead of the carb count. really this is quite rediclious!! but I know God has a purpose for everything and so I worry not. but man if I could just a break from the pain that would be wonderful

Hi (fell off the earth for a while. It really really IS flat and has a completely straight edge on all five sides).

Did they ever try the ultrasound method of stond breakage?? I understand the best way to do this is while in water, so have a fun and agitating bath....

Seriously: had them once while on a really important trip to Atlanta. All I remember is the effect of the percocet during hte flight home (that was fun - could have flown myself home faster)...

okay first let me start with this is my 31 -34th kidney stone. for those of you who have ever had one you know the pain and suffering we go through to pass these things. well I was having that pain and my urologist sent me for the xray and it showed three large stones in my right kidney!! Go figure! so i wanted to wait a week to see if they would pass on there own so he gave me the percocets and told me to rest and drink plenty of water. but my lord the next day I called back and told them I could not handle it the pain and the erratic blood sugars were really rediclous. so he scheduled surgry the next day to remove them. but they went in to take them out by going through my ureatha and apperently I have too much damage from previous stones and stents to get the scope in so he put in the smallest stent they had to see if they could widen the pathway and try to remove them agian this week ( thank god for greneral anastesia!!) I am dying here and my blood sugars are not helping. has anyone else had issues with stones and blood sugars?? between the diabetes and the stones I wonder how much damage my kidneys can take
