Day 10 Binge-Free, and my longest streak ever! I think I've been successful because I made a promise to myself that I would log every single bite that went into my mouth. And I can't stand the thought of logging in all the calories I would eat on a binge - the nachos, the pasta, the ice cream...

Beginning Day 4, as well. yesterday went well. We were late in getting home so I was feeling really bingy since I was so hungry. I just put some leftover dinner into the toaster oven while I put the groceries away. I ate, then watched a little tv before going to bed. Busy day=binge free day, YAY!

Beginning day 4. Yesterday went really well. I was sane all day and had no trouble keeping within my calorie range. I have a busy day today: work, shoveling more snow off my pool so it doesn't collapse, barn, painting. Keeping busy is so important to me staying on plan.

Way to go, 1KOOLKITTYKAT! Finding something that helps stop the binging is a huge step. Somewhere along the way you will start to figure out your triggers. Here's to another binge free day today.

SUCCESSFULLY MADE IT THROUGH DAY 3 OF A BRAND NEW STREAK. SO FAR SO GOOD. I THINK EXERCISE IS THE KEY FOR ME BECAUSE IT ALLOWS ME TO EAT MORE CALORIES AND I NEVER HAVE A CHANCE TO FEEL HUNGRY OR UNSATISFIED. I EAT LOTS OF SMALL MEALS AND SNACKS THROUGHOUT THE DAY. PLUS IT MAKES ME FEEL GOOD AND I TEND TO BINGE WHEN I FEEL BAD OR WANT TO PUNISH MYSELF, NOT SURE WHY I DO THAT? STILL WORKING ON THE REASONS BEHIND THE BINGING BUT AT LEAST I AM NOT BINGING, ONE STEP AT A TIME.

GO TEAM!!!

Great to hear about successes, and even when things don't go so well. Still binge free although today was a gift since I have a bad cold and don't feel like eating anyways.

I am really disappointed in myself. After being binge free for a month, I really pigged out last night. My grown daughter was upset with me and I could not deal with the emotions I was feeling so I ate and ate. But back on track today. So, I guess I've been binge free for 1 day.

Just starting out with Day 3. I have to go shopping and get a massage today. Town is an hour away so will be driving a bit and going to all the stores I need to shop at. Will pick a healthy lunch while I'm out and should do great today.

Let's do this thing!

Peace, love and light

Day 4 - binge-free!

Good morning, sparkers!

I actually slept 7 hours last night! I am delighted. But I had to get out and shovel first thing this morning and I am tired already again! It is a storm day altho the sun is now shining and the temp was not particularly cold. The snow was heavy and dense, however, which means that my shoulders and abs got a good workout.

I am doing some reading today. Don't know if I am in the mood for writing because my Emma is home today and likes to have music on and to have a go at the computer, too. I have lots of other things I can be doing, including more laundry.

Tomorrow, I am supposed to be working on the renovations again. I have to pick up some necessities at the hardware store.

My foodplan is iin place. I intend to have an active binge-free day. Have a good one, folks.
Ta, Reggie

Beginning day 3. I feel on track and in the groove again. I am eating within my calorie range, drinking lots of water and exercising. I need to keep reading Shrink yourself. I feel like the book is talking to me. I am planning on exercising again this morning. I have been doing 20 minute exercise shows on Exercise TV. It is easy to fit into my morning and it must be doing something because my thighs kill from doing squats. I will try to check in again tonight. I hope everyone has a good day!

If I'm honest, I have to say I have been bingeing, even though the calorie count has been relatively small. However, it was on sugar, and it had that mindless element to it, not in a fog, but not conscious enjoyment either. My weight is steady, although even that shouldn't be the measure. In any case, I accept what I did, and have hope that I will not repeat it today.

On another note, I wanted to report here that many women on the maintainers team that I lurk on said their first weight goal was rather high. Many of them found that when they reached that goal, they actually continued to lose weight because either their new habits allowed them to or they felt it was pretty easy to reduce their food intake without a lot of stress. I bring this up because I think it shows that we should worry less about weight results to start. Ending binging is the first goal. To get to it, it's likely we are going to have to adopt reasonable eating habits anyway. After living in this disciplined way for months, it seems reasonable to think that if we thought we actually needed to lose more weight, it will be easier to consider whether we might be eating more than we need. We can edge downwards if it's appropriate. emoticon

I ended up starting over yesterday since I had been struggling and my binge-like behavior probably was just that. I feel much more sane and in control again. TOM is over so that probably has a lot to do with my nuttiness. I got up yesterday and today and exercised to Exercise TV. It is free and convenient, so I will use it for a while. Going to the mall today to get some new shirts/sweaters for work. My tops are getting huge. I am so close to 20 pounds. I need to keep my eye on that number as a short-term goal to keep me motivated. I am almost ready to go down another pants size and hitting 20 will probably just about do it. I keep pulling my jeans up and I need a belt. Love that feeling!

Day 3 - binge-free!

Good morning, sparkers!

I woke up at 3:30 in the morning for the second night in a row. I will pace myself today and if I need to take a power-nap, I will. I drove Emma to band practice early this mornign. It is starting to snow again! Ok, I am starting to put in a daily order for spring/summer weather now! Enough snow already!

I have some writing to do this morning, and some cleaning up of a report I am doing for;a committee meeting next week. I still have not made it to the hardware store yet, but I will see how it goes. My mom gave me some of her frozen blueberries so I had some on my cereal this morning. Such a treat!

Off into my day. Have a good one, folks.

I AM STARTING A NEW STREAK TODAY. YESTERDAY I REACHED MY VERY FIRST 21 DAY STREAK. SO FAR WHAT I AM DOING IS WORKING, I PLAN MY MEALS AND SNACKS, I MAKE SURE TO WORK OUT SEVERAL TIMES A WEEK AND I JUST KEEP TELLING MYSELF THAT FOOD WON'T MAKE ANYTHING BETTER. I DO ALLOW MYSELF SNACKS AND CHOCOLATE BUT MAKE SURE THEY ARE PART OF MY DAILY CALORIES.

GO TEAM!

The good thing is that after overeating yesterday, I am not hungry today as I have a cold. I will have to remember to eat my meals and snacks, but I am pretty sure late night snacking will be out. Thank goodness!

Day 2 - binge-free!

Good morning, sparkers!

I have already started laundry and done vacuuming on my main floor. I have to shovel the driveway out next. I am tkaing my mother this afternoon to pick up her frozen blueberries at the farmer's market here. I have some hardware to pick up, too, as well as my daughter!

Some phone calls to make and some writing to do in the meantime. I did not sleep well last night. It was not coffee; just fretting. But I am feeling ok today. I have my foodplan in place and intend to be physically active for at least some of the day.

Have a good one, folks!

Well, I'm going to start Streaking again today. I guess 7 days was just what I could manage this time. That is okay. This next streak will be longer and I will get to the bottom of this thing eventually.

SBATES63~ Congrats on 38 days binge-free! I have been feeling that the calorie tracking is a bit much for me but I am not sure. I just thought yesterday, 'Maybe I should just focus on eating sanely and not count calories.' It can throw me off sometimes. (Although it wasn't that yesterday because I wasn't counting...darn football game set me off). Not binging is the most important thing for me, too. If I can lose these last 10 pounds, great, if I can stop bingeing, even better!

Peace, love and light to all as we venture into an awesome day

Keep it binge-free

Hi everyone! I'd like to join in and start a streak today. Yesterday wasn't a bad one and in general, I've been doing well. However, I'm traveling by myself this week (leaving today) and I know that is one giant trigger for me, so its a great day to start streaking!

Here's to day 1

Yesterday was one of those borderline days. I didn't binge in the true sense of the word, but I definitely overate. I am coming down with a cold and it was a hormonal thing too so I just wanted to eat. Today I am going to get back to eating sanely and continue my streak.

I was not planning in making cookies tonight. My daughter was suppose to make the this afternoon but she went into an emotional crisis last night. So after I dealt with that and got here back to school tonight, I made the cookies that she couldn't. My husband is going to mail them to her in the AM. My daughter is doing better now that she is back at school and is scheduled to see her counselor this Thursday so hopefully this will help

So I ate a lot of cookie dough and don't feel so well.

So tomorrow will be day 1.

WELL I MADE IT. MY VERY FIRST 21 DAY STREAK. TWAS A GREAT DAY. DID AN HOUR OF KICKBOXING, MADE A WONDERFUL BREAKFAST. TRIED A NEW RECIPE FOR DINNER AND IT TURNED OUT QUITE DELICIOUS. DIDN'T OVER SNACK WHILE WATCHING THE BIG GAME. IT WAS A COMPLETE SUCCESS AND I AM SO PROUD OF MYSELF. HOPEFULLY THIS WILL BE THE FIRST OF MANY.

NOW DO I START OVER AGAIN AND CALL TOMORROW DAY 1 OR IS IT DAY 22, IS THERE A PROTOCOL? CAN SOMEONE LET ME KNOW? THANX

GREAT JOB EVERYONE. REMEMBER BABY STEPS WILL STILL GET YOU WERE YOU WANT TO GO!

Hey all,
I think I can call this day 3 although it was close. I started snacking but am stopping myself. If I want, I might have some tea later.

It seems like many people are successful. Way to go team! Keep up the good work. I am so proud of those who have succeed. And for those that haven't reached their goals yet...well I am proud of you to! Just being here and writing about binging is a major accomplishment. You will be successful in one way or another!!!

I recently reported i had 53 days binge free. That seemed too many and it was. That was my longest streak. I must confess that I am 38 days binge free. I really only worry about being binge free for today, so have to rely on my SparkStreaks to tell me how long it's been.

I haven't been focusing on calorie intake, only eating moderately and exercising regularly. It seems to be working. I haven't binged and that is the most important thing to me. Losing weight is secondary.

Today was day 3. I had some big unplanned eating, don't think it was a binge though. I did still fall within my calorie range but I am done eating for the day. I still havent done any real exercising, which I need to change. I promise, promise, promise I will get up and exercise tomorrow morning!

4 days going on five. yay!!! I really hope I can make it a full 21 days. I would be so proud of myself to make it that far. I think it would be a life-time record for me, actually. So, I am really going to commit to this and try my absolute hardest to stay on the path and use all of my skills and tools to stay binge free. I was in eating disorder treatment in the past, and I am currently in DBT which teaches a lot of emotional regulation and crisis survival strategies to get you through tough emotional times without, in their words 'making them worse by doing something self-destructive" so I have plenty of tools at my disposal, it is all about actually putting them into practice!!! Also, the support from this group will definitely be a big help, and I wish everyone else successs in their 21 day binge free streak!!!!

keep trying despite failure, and if you perservere, eventually you WILL succeed.
