I've been binging almost every other day since my husband died. Well really since he was told he had weeks to live, so really since July. I need a new improved eating life now to go along with being a single mom and widow. I want my new normal to be binge free.

HELP!

Today is day 60 of not eating sugar. Binged on bread with peanut butter last night though. I know exactly what activity and thoughts triggered the binge so I will do my best to prevent it next time.

One weird blessing - not having to fight thanksgiving food since we don´t celebrate it in Sweden :-)

But I feel off the wagon, eating very unorganised, not gaining but not losing either. Need new inspiration. And december is coming up... scaaaary!

Susan, I still think that overeating instead of bingeing is progress!

I'm doing okay. Overeating a little now and then but in general following my foodplan and not eating sugar!

Binges have stopped, but over-eating has taken over. I am snacking mroe than usual. Just seem to have traded one bad habit for another. Oops!!!

I read on another team that someone commented on not liking the word motivate. It intimated fear and guilt. I never thought of it that way. The Sparker said she subsituted the word "inspire" for motivate. I kind of like that idea. I know motivation is hard for me to keep up with. I can be inspired however. I am inspired every day by reading others stories and responses to their journey to a healthier life.

I'm doing well today. This is day 54 of my '100 days' plan to not have sugar, In fact I didn't eat sugar for 60 days today!
I'm amazed because in those 60 days I had only two binges, and on more or less 'healthy' foods while before I had an average of 2 binges per week.

That's great that you are under 2000 most days! emoticon

Today is day 53 of no sugar. I tried eating no cheese and no bread but gave that up yesterday, seems I'm asking too much of myself. May try again later.

Can't exercise (except some walking) because I had surgery on my hand. No biking allowed...

Been a while - all occupied with trying to renovate my kitchen and entré... food has been okay, but I had my first binge since midsummer, since then food isslipping but as I still track everything I can see that I am most days under 2 000 calories and that is the main focus for the moment.

Exercise - I work up a lot of sweat when I paint, lay floor and carry furniture around...

Feeling better about myself today. Talked to a friend yesterday who i encourgaed to come back to sparkpeple. I took to heart the pep talk I gave her and it made me feel better. I am hard on myself so I put the words I gave her towards my own situation. I treated myself with the same kidness and understanding I gave her. It felt good to not be so hard on myself.

Well done everyone!

Today is day 40 for me of not eating sugar. Actually it's day 46 because I stopped eating sugar before I started the '100 day' challenge. And also - no big binges. A few small ones but not the type of binge that I was used to.

Overeating is better than binging. I hope today you're able to stay on track. Yesterday was a good day for me. I also did some overeating. On the plus side I overate on some homemade raw almond butter instead of eating Halloween candy.

Did overeat yesterday, sort of, but did not binge. Whew! That was good. DIdn't have the bast of lunches...mozzarella sticks. Also has some pub blend snack crackers that i nibbled on all afternoon.

Still battling a cold. Food doesn't taste as good with a stuffy/runny nose.

Well done Hope for doing your best to make it through without giving in. I hope you can process all the feelings and come out stronger. emoticon

SMG, maybe you don't like starting over but you just don't know yet how else to handle things? Like so many of us? Good luck!

Well done Ace!

Look at all this positive action! What a team...

I am doing well with my plan even though times are tough. I had some sort of emotional upheaval / 'crisis' yesterday (could it be in the air? could it be the moon? everyone's upset and exhausted!). But I DID NOT BINGE, though I overeate a bit on healthy foods late at night. And didn't eat sugar.
Today I hope to manage to get some decent exercise as in the past days I had too little sleep so I was too tired to go out on the bike.

Had a good day, accoplished what I needed at work and prepared for going to Oslo for two days. There will be food offered all the time on that trip, I will need a strategy to cope.

had a really emotionally charged day with a lot of feelings that are coming up-not suppressed by food. Tempted to go out and buy junk but I am just going to try to make it through. Tough day emotionally; lot of crying, anger, sadness....stuff that's hard to talk about. I think I really need to 'show up' for myself and be present for those parts of me who are having a tough time. I begrudgingly pledge to try to make it through tonight.

Hope

Great going!!

I blew today and I pigged out (not a real binge-but way too much) cheese and crackers after lunch today. I must really like starting over, because I seem to be doing it all of the time.

I plan to do better tonight and be more sensible.

I did what I said I'd do! Had a good portion for supper not too much. Left the table and walked the dog so I wouldn't be tempted to have seconds.

Didn't manage my attempt to stay under 2000 calories yesterday. I had a binge on some sour dough bread and ice cream. Maybe today will be better. I am feeling bad with a chest cold. Not much for eating today. I do want some chicken noodle soup. I will shop today and maybe I can find a decent soup with low calories and low sodium.

I'm still doing well with my plan to not eat sugar. Day 43 today.
And also no big binges all that time.

My intention is to have a good portion (not overeat) at supper, in about an hour or so.

I had some lemon curd yesterday evening – and when I tracked it I realised that I had not eaten almost anything during the day – my numbers sgayed well under my calorie range but it might not have been the healthiest choices...

Checking in tonight after a day with a really bad headache-could be sugar withdrawals. Made it through yesterday without binging; and I need to get through tonight. Night time is my weak time, but I think it will be o.k. If I have anything tonight, it will be protein and fruit. I am tired but I am still needing to unwind after a tough day at work. Good to come home though, and take a shower. Just saying 'I am here' and for those of you who struggle at night, I am right here with you. Have a good night. Hope

Didn't check in until today. I think I will join MEDDYPEDDY with the "Under 2000 calories a day" for the month. I'll start today and check in after I complete my nutrition tracker. It is definitely something I need to work on. My binges can easily cause me to exceed 2000 calories.

My goal is stop snacking so much in the evening. I have been doing a lot of that recently and need to get back on track. I, too will do no sugar, that is easy for me--it is the salty and crunchy chips that derail me all of the time.

That's interesting, I too have been thinking about doing one day of raw food per week. But winter is, for me, a very bad time to do it. Summer is much better.... So I think I will stick to my goal of not eating sugar first. It's a great idea though if you ask me. Keep us posted!

My goal for November is to do some form of exercise at least 10 minutes everyday.

And I would like to do exercise that I've never done before or haven't done for a long time.

Super Ace... that is a good idea. Not that I will go 100 % raw but you inspire me to think that I can do at least one day a week... ended up with 2040 calories yesterday, it is ridiculously hard to get under 2000....another try today!

My goal for November is to try to eat in private the way I would eat in public, i.e. not stuffing down food at breakneck speed in secret without using any cutlery or crockery.

Thank you for creating this topic and I wish all of you well with your respective November goals.

Thank you again Meddy for starting a check in thread! So thoughtful.

My goal for November and December is to continue with my plan of not eating sugar for 100 days. I'm on day 34 today so I'm past one-third of the 100 day challenge!

I find it very interesting to experience me-without-sugar. I think my moods are better and more stable.

My goal for November (and hopefully beyond) is to keep carb levels between 20-50 grams/day and thereby normalizing my blood sugar to be out of the pre-diabetic range by the end of the year. This keeps me in ketosis (fat-burning mode), keeps my body fat levels and keeps me from having any desires to binge.

The goal for november is to try to stay beneath 2 000 calories in nutrition, so far it has been one day success, one day failure, it is weirdly hard! In the long run I need to learn to be happy with about 1 800 calories on normla days...
