I have turned self-sabotage into an art form.

I have noticed that a BINGE isnt all about the food that I eat either. I have really been trying to watch HOW I eat whenever I eat a meal or anything. It seems when I was in the throws of a binge, I ate violently. Not gently or joyful. When I find myself putting to much in my mouth or gulping my food, I stop and take a breath and start again. I always try to eat gently and to feel love torwards myself when I am eating and to allow myself the feeling of it's ok to eat.

I find I also do this to myself. It is so easy to slip. Take it one day at a time. I agree not having trigger foods around are the best way to prevent the binging and Sabotage. You have to continue to tell yourself your worth this. It may be hard now, but when you get to goal it will be SSSOOOO worth it! And it feels really good when you make a few good decisions in a row. Those good feelings lead to a few more good decisions. Take it slow and don't expect perfection. You will fall off the wagon time to time, the key is becoming an expert at picking yourself back up and brushing off the dust!! You can do this. Stay active on the boards, it does help the frame of mind!!

Have a great day!!

It's a real struggle for me too... I seem to do pretty well as long as I have an accountability buddy (which I found through Spark). I would advise that you try to find someone that you have to report to daily with complete honesty.... and them to you. I also agree that not buying the stuff is the first step... It's that split second at the grocery store that you have to tell yourself NO.. I don't need this. Good luck.. I'm sending you good thoughts.

Hi MerryJo! I am trying REALLY hard to overcome the self-sabotage - the bingeing when I recognize that I'm doing it but don't even try to stop myself. Or buying the stuff for the binge that shouldn't be in the house in the first place. I've tried and failed several times, but keep trying. I'm binge-free 5 days now, and so far so good. I'm trying to keep from sabotaging myself by reminding myself that this is for me and my health and well-being, and reminding myself of the many ways my binges negatively affect me. It's not easy. I wish you the best!
