I am a vegetarian not a vegan (yet) and on the Weight Watchers Plus 2012 Plan. I find I can stick to being a vegetarian on this plan.

Lately, I have been finding success with McDougall. It just seems like it's working. But I've done the gamut, from Atkins to raw diet. Compared to a raw vegan diet, I think that McDougall has a lot less restrictions. Recently, I tried clean eating and must've done something wrong because I gained about three pounds in a week doing clean eating! I like the recipes and the principles behind it. Also, tried Body for life and the same thing happened, I gained a lot of weight in only a week or two!

The main thing that might have helped me this last week was eating a large green salad spritzed with lime juice and vegetables for my lunch and dinner. I also ate other things alongside it, but only let myself eat the rest of the meal after I'd eaten my huge salad. I don't think I've ever eaten as much salad without any type of dressing in my life, and somehow I'm doing okay on it even. So maybe right now, I'm sort of around 70% raw, but I don't think I could really do 100% raw for the rest of my life, I just think that I have learned recently to have a lot more greens in my diet.

Another thing has been cooking steelcut oats in the crockpot and eating them in the morning with berries on top and some almond milk! It's really good and it's finally one of my go-to meals besides the avocado or peanut butter that I've been eating on my toast most mornings for the last 6 months.

I have been trying to simply eat "cleaner" and exercise more...though this week I've not been
up to par with things.

Hey Kim -
I have always been facinated by McDougall. Right now I am doing my own thing and counting calories. Not much dairy, but I do eat eggs. I raise my own chickens so that I know my eggs come from a humane source :)
Usually I mix a whole egg with two or three whites, and give the extra yolks to a very grateful dog.
Let me know how McDougall works for you!
Beth

I'm just curious....

Are any of you doing a specific diet plan? Right now, I'm doing lowfat vegan McDougall weight loss plan. Is anyone else on this team on a vegan diet plan like I am, or are you doing your own thing and count calories?

Thanks,

Kim
