I don't have many people to buy for, and the people I DO have to buy for just want boring old gift cards. I did get my younger son a really nice coat, and a guitar for my dh.

I have an Amazon credit card, which means I get "points" and credit which I have used for shopping. Our pecan tree did very well this year so I will be giving pralines and maybe a pie or two - stuff I don't actually eat myself!

Hi Team!

Just wondering what type of gifts you'll be giving this Christmas?

Since things are tough for many of us financially, I thought it'd be a good idea to share gift-giving plans here.

I like to give homemade presents, so this year (as last), I'll be making chocolate-covered pretzles, chocolate-covered raisins, and something new I'm calling "Elfin Magic" (which is just a conglomeration of a bunch of stuff--pretzles, peanuts, Chex cereals, cashews, M & M's...etc held together with drizzles of chocolate).

Sunday I went to Target & Walgreens got much of the items I needed on sale: Chex for $1.67 a box & Chocolate Chips 3/$7 at Target, & mixed nuts & Cashews for $1.99 at Walgreens !

I also redeemed my "points" with my credit card company (National City) & got Starbucks gift cards, to put in mugs. Yay! These didn't cost me a penny!

So...what will YOU be doing to get through the season intact financially? A gift from the heart is the best gift of all!
