When I need help with supplements, I go to an acupuncturist who knows a lot about supplements and herbs and medical conditions. Reading and getting friends' advice didn't help me. Getting to someone who studied it did help.

Not something you asked, but my daughter's thyroid died at a very young age (16) and she found Synthroid to be much better for her than Armour.

I was switched to Synthroid but have always had a problem with weight, but I can't say it's the meds - just my laziness.

I don't have an experience with thyroid problems. I'm sorry I can't help.

I don't have any experience to offer, nor am I well-versed in thyroid issues, but I have a GREAT resource to offer:

I have been listening all week, and I am so grateful for the information (a natural big picture approach)... perhaps you'd find it helpful.

Dr. Jason Fung: "Holy consensus, Batman. With so many 'experts' from Michelle Obama to the USDA to virtually all of the medical professionals (including doctors and dieticians) agreeing that 'Eat Less, Move More' is the way to go, you might think that it is 100% unquestionably true. But here's a queer thought... if we all agree that we know the cure for obesity, and we've spent billions on educations and programs - why are we getting fatter? In other words, why does this 'cure' suck so bad?

I'm currently taking Armour thyroid and my blood values are now in the normal range. I recently lost over 60 lbs before I was diagnosed. Now I am trying to lose more weight and instead seem to be gaining even though I'm using my same diet. Has anyone had success with supplement to help metabolism that won't interfere with Armour?
