EWG site is great!

Kiss My Face is supposed to be good.

I think it depends on what you want for an SPF level.

I've read that coconut oil can be used.

Finding a good sunscreen is a concern to me as well. Besides the fact that most have chemicals, they seem to cause me to burn. I burn less without them. I was reading a book recently that commented on using olive oil as a sunscreen. I figure I will test that out. It will have to wait until next year though because I doubt it will be sunny and hot anymore this year.

My daughter also burns extremely easily. She uses a drugstore brand that is either Nivea or Neutrogena. I'v borrowed it and it works well.

For years we used the one with the banned substance (PABA?) and it worked wonderfully.
The newer products weren't protecting at all -- we're a very fair skinned family and we were burning. We began using zinc oxide. No burning, but hard to make disappear.

Then I found this site and could focus on the ones that worked. A Trader Joe's brand, very cheap; and for a luxury item, the Anthelios one that's about $60.

I use Dr Mercola's ones. I live in Ireland so I don't get to use a lot of it!!!! I just like to have it on hand for the kids.

Great topic. I posted under Lotions, etc.... that I'm also looking for a safe sunless tanner. Someone mentioned brewing black tea which I haven;t tried yet but sounds interesting.

Happy summer everyone!
