I work in a library and can justify ordering it for our collection. I'll check it out as soon as it comes in (along with some other titles I need to order). I haven't seen it yet, so I'm looking forward to it.

I'm getting ready to hit the hay and work through another couple of chapters. It's slow going, because the book is so large that it's hard to read it while reclining!

I read the book and I'm watching the series. They're very different, but both good.

I watched 'Falling Skies' mainly for the Mechs. I love any type of creepy robot. They bring the scares, but I comfort myself in knowing that there's no way one could sneak up on me. What with their clomping and humming. I'm hoping for lots of Mech scenes next season.

Speaking of SciFi shows, is anyone here watching 'Under the dome'? I've been kind of disappointed in the series so far, because there are so many storylines and situations that could be explored, but they've basically turned it into a mild drama. I sometimes forget that there's actually a dome over the town. I'm also slogging through the novel right now. What a monster tome! I had to renew it at the library today because it was due and I'm only about halfway through it. Typical Stephen King, though. Lots of violence and gore, but I'm going to finish it because it is a lot different from the series, so I want to read how it's all resolved.

Falling Skies is on my MUST list every summer. It's really a great show; the characters are well-written. I'm not going to say much more because spoilers will ruin it; it's much better when you have no clue what's about to happen...one thing with that show is things will seem a bit slow and then....BAM!!

I really like the Falling Skies. I don't like how short the season is for it, it's like a British show, but at least it's more consistant. I highly recommend you check out the tnt web site for it, too. Lots of extras. While the series is on they have an aftershow hosted by Wil Wheaton that is a lot of fun. I don't know if those are archived, but if they are, they're worth a look.

Where are you at in your viewing? I don't want to give any spoilers.

Liane

I want to see Riddick to - loved the movies. I've been watching Falling Skies on amazon the last week or so - I don't get that channel and had never even heard of the show until I accidently found it on Amazon - so far I'm liking it - anyone else seen it?

Chr of Riddick was a big ole space fantasy, but really should be taken on its own. I love them both, and I hope Riddick is a good combo.

My BF had to talk me into watching Pitch Black years ago, and I was hooked. It's a great movie Chronicles of Riddick was OK, but didn't have the same tension.

I've never seen any of the Riddick movies. I'll have to check 'em out.

I'm looking forward to Riddick, too. Looks more like Pitch Black than the last Riddick movie.
