There are 8 Stargate novels for download for $5.99 on Crosspress http://store.crossroadpress.com/index.php?
main_page=index&cPath=99
which is linked to Fandemonium - I'm not getting paid for advertising but if it doesn't get used, they won't do anymore - stats go to Fandemonium and we want them to keep publishing novels about our guys!

For the McKay lovers out there, the two to get are 'The Chosen', and 'Exogenesis', though I think both are out of print but available for kindle download at amazon.

Of the SG1 books, I've only read Matter of Honor & Cost of Honor, I thought they were fantastic. I have read one of the SGA ones as well, but for the life of me I can't remember the name of it!

I picked up a bunch of them a while back at Barnes & Noble, but have only had a chance to read several of them so far. I really liked 'The Barque of Heaven'. If I recall the plot correctly...

******Mild plot spoilers, read further at your own risk*********

...it had the team being 'stranded' on a planet where the only way off was to complete a task (mainly solve a puzzle) that would allow them to dial the gate to the next planet. There they would have to go through the same process again to get to the next one, and so on and so on. Of course there were perils along the way and the suspense was that if they didn't solve the puzzle within a certain time, the gate would lock out and they would be stranded forever. The prize at the end was supposed to be entrance to 'heaven'.

I felt that it was well-written considering that I 'feared' for our heroes, even though I knew (deep down) that they would be okay. emoticon

'Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming -- WOW -- what a ride!

I'll have to go look them over to remember which ones are which, lol. A few of them were really good.

There's one story that's a 2 parter: #3 A Matter of honor and #5 The Cost of Honor that deal with the team left on the planet being sucked into the black hole (they go to rescue them). They were really good.

I'll refresh my memory on the others so I can give a better recommendation.

Do you have any favorites of the SG-1 novels? I'd like to get some but don't really know where to start except in order and that's boring ;-)

I have a whole bunch of them. I think almost all of them that have come out the last couple of years (except the newest ones). Whatever I could find at Barnes & Noble and on Amazon. Although I haven't read the Atlantis ones yet. I got them because I was pregnant last summer and my computer broke so I had nothing to do, lol. I ended up fixing the computer before I got to the SGA books.

I really want to read the new series that continues after the show but I haven't even seen the last season of SGA (just random episodes that I've caught on syfy but still haven't seen the last episode so I have no clue what happened).

I have numbers: 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16 from SG-1 and #2 on my ereader (but haven't read it yet) and for SGA I have 6 through 10.

I have read all of the Atlantis novels. Several are out of print but available to buy in digital format for kindle or other readers. The only one I really didn't care for was 'Hunt and Run'. It doesn't even hold to the 'rules' of the shows. The audio dramas are all entertaining, but my favorite is 'Gift of the Gods', a Daniel story read by Michael Shanks. If you can't find them, the person I got them all from at a scifi convention has a website; www.awit.com, and I think she still has most of them.

The first few novels published back in the 90's were pretty bad, but the newer ones published by Fandemonium are mostly really good. There's even a series they have started that is kind of a season 6 for Atlantis. They are definately worth a look for anyone craving more SG with nothing new on the horizon. Also, there's a British company that's done a bunch of audio dramas that are a lot of fun, too. Anyone else read/listened to any of that stuff? Have a favorite?
