one other thing that gets me irritated..a person on foodstamps asking for starbucks to allow them to make purchases with their foodstamp money.I am one of many hard-working, tax-paying American citizens paying for people's food stamps and it gets me very irritated that some of those people want things paid for by others that are luxuries.

People that run red lights while turning left. That's a HUGE problem here in Vegas.

LOL. so, i will just mention 1. the car behind me being right on the b**t of my car. most of the time, I will slow down so much that the person behind me suddenly becomes 3-4 car lengths behind me the rest of the time. HEE HEE HEE! i know......really mean. but COME ON! i don't even like my hubby that close behind me. LMAO.

My number one would have to be people who don't stop for crosswalks. I live near the state school for the blind, and even right there in front of it, where the crosswalks are huge zebra-striped things and there are signs that say "Turning vehicles MUST yield to pedestrians," people STILL think that a driver who's turning right on red or left on green without an arrow has right-of-way over pedestrians crossing with the light. Yeah, right. That little blind kid in the wheelchair is supposed to see you coming and jump out of the way, I guess.

And why is it that even when there is a trash barrel, people will drop their cups on the ground two feet away from it?

And the dogs who "won't hurt you?" When they do hurt you, "they didn't mean it!" I was out walking a few months ago when this couple opened their front door and let out two HUGE dogs. One tripped a jogger on their side of the street and the other came flying across the street, jumped on me, and knocked me flat. And the woman is saying, "Oh, they're nice dogs. They wouldn't hurt you on purpose! They didn't mean it; they're just excited!" Oh, they didn't do it on purpose? Okay, since it wasn't deliberate, I'll stop bleeding. (No, lady, they're not "just excited." They're untrained and unleashed, and I really ought to sue you.)

But then, I'm occasionally guilty of the handwashing thing. I'm not germaphobic, but sometimes the faucets are really disgusting and touching them without a paper towel defeats the purpose of washing. Most places here are installing automatic electric-eye ones, though. Then the problem is getting the faucet to "see" you again after you move your hands to get soap. But I figure if I have to stand there with lather on my hands waiting for the risnse water, the soap has more time to work, right?

I'm sure there is a lot, but right now:

People who run in Trail races and litter (maps, water bottles, etc.) It's like "ummm I would like to come back and race here next year."

When I host poker tournaments and even though I have a recycling bag, they throw in the regular trash.

People who do not observe the leash laws on their dogs who would never "hurt anyone."

LOL ECOMUFFIN. Me too.

I hate it when you are standing in a line waiting to pay and the person at the register just HAS to answer their cellphone and stand and chat.

Trash , trash everywhere and no one seems to care. It piles up faster then we can pick it up and our fences out here in the country are a catch all.

Two people in a conversation and every other word is a cuss word.

Aw geez Twist, you reminded me of another one when you mentioned the "poop bag".

I get so aggravated by people who walk their dogs and don't pick up after them!!! How hard is it to bring along a plastic grocery bag and pick up your dog's poop!!!??!!

I live in a pretty nice neighborhood but I hate when I walk my dogs that I have to constantly be dragging them away from other dogs' "piles" the whole way.

It think the litter that upsets me the most, that I find makes a neighbourhood look seedy, is fast food trash & liquor bottles.

"It just doesn't seem like a whole lot of effort to hold an empty cup until you come to a trash barrel. "

I've noticed that in some places there aren't many trash cans, and I wonder if it's cities under tight budget constraints that are eliminating them for less pickup stops....

That said, if I can walk 2 miles with a "poop bag" until I see a trash bin, then everyone else is just being lazy...

Alicia,

That's one thing I noticed when I started picking up stray bottles and cans on my walks i.e. all the cigerette butts on the ground !! Hundreds of them, everywhere. They really don't seem to decay.

What didn't surprize me was how many water bottles I've been picking up. Ditto Red Bull cans. That's been the majority of the stuff I've bagged in the last two days.

So far, I've done four full grocery store bags full of cans and bottles that are now destined for recycle. WOO HOO !! Still, I'm shocked at how much trash there still is out there.

The bottles and cans are the easy stuff. then you've got the plastic coffee cups. Those seem to everywhere too.

I don't know. It just doesn't seem like a whole lot of effort to hold an empty cup until you come to a trash barrel.

and on that ciggy butt note - it especially irritates me when it's done right in front of my house!! Even worse are those who throw their trash in my garden. Of course, because soda cans belong in between the green beans... gah!

Eco-tip: If you're afraid of germs, carry a travel-sized hand sanitizer, like Clean & Well or EO, in your bag. Then you can turn off the water, dry your hands, and follow with a spritz of hand san.

One of my biggest peeves (of which there are many), are people who throw their cigarette butts on the ground. Hi, it's litter. Those things take forever and a day to break down and are filled with carcinogens. I don't care if people want to kill themselves with cancer sticks (as long as I'm not picking up the medical tab), but don't be a slob about it and junk up the environment while you do it!
Gggrrrrrr...

I get very irritated by people who speed up on the highway when I try to pass them.

I will say that sometimes I leave the water running while I dry my hands, but only because I want to use a paper towel to turn off the faucet handle (a little germ phobic here!)

@ work - People who splash water all over the counter and then don't dry it up. Then if I happen to lean on the counter, my shirt & pants end up wet! grrr...

I always feel like leaving a note on the mirror that says "your mother doesn't come here to clean up after you".

Thankfully I hardly drive anymore or you'd see me on the evening news for trying to shoot people.

How about people who leave the water running while they dry their hands in the bathroom ! Twice today, I've seen people who let the water run while they get a paper towel to dry their hands. they only turn the water off once their hands are dry !!!

Would it take that much effort to turn the faucet off before you dry your hands ? Do people realize how much water is wasted when they do that ???

Okay, needed to vent... I could complain about people who leave bits of toilet paper on the floor too, but I'll save that for another rant later. LOL !!

So, tell me, what ticks you off at work ? the gym ? home ? while driving ? etc...
