I missed 4 out of 12, not too bad considering I don't like politics. I just listen to the hubby ramble and to the news in the background while I am on the computer.

In a prebariatric program hoping to get approval for weight loss surgery.

Be Blessed!

Kathy

I got 11 out of 12. I missed the oil question-- kind of embarrassing, considering where I live.

If you think it's sad how badly people did on this quiz, chew on this: the vast majority of Americans couldn't pass the US citizenship test. Including the governors of several states. (Ours couldn't, but then, he scored something like 20% on our high school graduation test when they showed it to him a few years ago. I think he did pass the 5th grade sample, but barely.)

I got 11 of 12. Missed the question about the filibuster. Everything was familiar but it wouldn't be honest if I didn't admit that I was making educated guesses on some questions.

I got 11 of 12 correct. I missed the one about the % of Oil that is Imported - I knew it was alot but talked myself out of the 2/3 answer. Of course I learned from watching the Olympics this week that import more from Canada than we do from the Mid East.

Alicia, I was shocked by the breakdown of statistics ! 7% of the people who took the quiz got ZERO right. How scary and sad is that ? Statistically speaking, even taking totally random guesses should have resulted in one or two right answers. So it makes me wonder if some folks were trying to get them all wrong !

Ron, you're still way ahead of the curve. Men, on average, got more right than women. Although, older people scored much better than younger people.

I found the statistical breakdowns fascinating.

OK, so I only got 9 out of 12, but then I don't listen to the news much except when driving and I don't watch TV much and I usually go to bed before the nightly news. So maybe not so bad just from listening while driving. emoticon

I got 5/12 but in my defense, I am Canadian.

My friends, love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair. So let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic. And together we'll change the world. All my very best, Jack Layton.

Did anyone look at the charts after the quiz? Only 2% of people taking the quiz answered all questions correctly! (Insert head-banging emoticon.)

It saddens me to think how ill-informed we are as a country. To have a well-functioning democracy, the people need to be educated and engaged. I guess that explains a lot...

I got 10 because I couldn't for the life of me remember who had retired and who had been sworn in on the supreme court and if that loser with his exploding underwear was from the yemen or trained in the yemen. At least I knew he had something to do with the yemen!

maybe I shouldn't take quizzes past my bedtime :)

Thanks for the link! I scored 12 out of 12, but I really wanted to count Stephen Colbert as an Olympic athlete... Hey, he tried out, right? LOL

Good morning, everyone ! So, how politically savvy are you ? Think you know current events ? Why not give this quiz a try to find out. Post your results. Don't worry, no one will criticise. It's all for fun.
