I love how video game creators come up with these things to help change up our workout routines.

Now, about that dog ... I would have bet that my cat would have out done your dog on inactivity, but I really think you've her beat!!

Now that sounds like a game I'd like to try ! It's probably a good thing that I don't have a Wii. I can see myself playing with it for hours. That's what would happen to me... I'd start playing a game and before long, I'd want to beat the game !

LOL !!!

You know, I give the gaming industry a lot of credit. they've figured out that there is money to be had in creating fitness games for people.

Nintendo Wii is probably the one product that is making a profit in this economy.

One of the cool things about this game is that when you synch your pedometer at the end of the day, it cycles through your entire day and gives you a summary of your activity, such as "your longest period of continuous activity was 30 minutes," or, "your longest period of INactivity was..."

When I synched up my dog's pedometer last night, it showed that her longest period of INactivity was....SEVEN HOURS.

Sheesh. What a life.

I don't have a Nintendo, but I'm all for little "perks" to keep up the motivation!

Hope it works for you!

So how active was the dog? emoticon

Has anyone else tried out the new "Personal Trainer: Walking" game for the Nintendo DS?

I admit it, I am a gadget freak and yes I do have a Nintendo DS. I have had one for several years and when I have time to use it, I like puzzle and brain-teaser type games.

The Personal Trainer: Walking "game" is actually two pedometers and the game cartridge. You synch the pedometers with the game, put the pedometer in your pocket or purse, and at the end of the day you can see how many steps you took, and play different games based on how far you went. You can set goals, view graphs, etc. too.

I have only had it for a couple of days but it is kind of fun. I needed a new pedometer anyway so I figured I would give it a go. It cost $50, which isn't bad for two pedometers and the game. You can use the second pedometer for another family member or even your DOG! One of my dogs (the pleasantly plump one) is wearing the other pedometer today. Can't wait to get home and see if she really sleeps all day on my bed as I suspect!

I needed something to freshen up my health and fitness routine and I thought this looked like it might be fun. We will see how I feel about it in a few weeks, if/when the novelty wears off!
