Posted a photo in our team photos - fire above us - but we're ok. Getting cats ready just in case. Have computers, iphone, (yes Twist I finally joined the technical generation) and wedding ring. Good thing Hawaii photos and our finances are online! - DH reminded me I better get the bikes ready to toss into the truck - and Red Baby of course!

I don't live where we would likely have fires and we are too high for floods ... about the only disasters we get are snow storms and tornadoes.

But if I did have to evacuate:
DH can take care of himself (and hopefully the dog!)
Cat and Dog (dog if DH doesn't take care of her)
Meds and supplements
Portable safe with all important and legal papers
like insurance, birth certificates
Laptop

Portable safe ... that's kind of an oxymoron isn't it?

The smoke is just terrible! We drove across the valley yesterday; the air was hazy and giant clouds of smoke were rising above the mountains.
Hope the firefighters make some ground today!

Hi Alicia, yes we are near the Station fire - but not directly - we can see the flames at night and it is very smokey here.

-cats (the b can take care of himself, and preferably a couple of the cats...carrying 4 cats would be hard).
-backpack (which usually has my checkbook, calendar and "wallet" in it).

if i had time:

hard files (thinking about a fireproof safe for this one, just dig through the rubble).

external hard drive/computer (although the external hard drive is pretty useless until i start getting more diligent about saving my files and photos onto it regularly)

luckily, in MA, we have pretty much all of the natural disasters that the rest of the country has, we just don't have them with quite the ferocity. so i'm definitely not well prepared for this type of thing.

Hey, Laurie! Are you close to the Station fire?

I'll be thinking of you. Stay safe!

We finally went to bed after learning the fire seemed to be moving away from our home. This morning, the blaze is 35% contained and no other structures are threatened at this time. Thank you, Firefighters!!!

Is there a sigh-of-relief emoticon? emoticon

I was watching the news last night. Have you been able to ride your bike or is the air quality really as bad as they say. The report did make me think about what I would take.

In no particular order, my external USB hard drive. I back up my computer regularly too. Family photos. My mother's (and my) jewelry.

That's what I'd take if I didn't have time to gather stuff. I don't have any pets. emoticon but, if I had any, they'd come with me too.

Just watching the glow of fires around us and listening to the news for evacuation information. I think we're safe, but we've already discussed what we would take if we have to get out.

1.) Cats
2.) External hard drive with photos
3.) Time permitting, my little jewelry box

How about you?
