Or the one with the bridezilla that took the piping tubes and "re-did" her cake? LOL

I really do want to see the movie, but these days I can't afford $10 on a movie. Guess I'll just have to wait for it to come out on netflix.

Has anyone watched Cake Boss on TLC? It's like watching Tony Soprano use silver leaf! You should've seen the episode where his delivery guys dropped a cake that took 2 days to make. Seriously, they almost got whacked! I love it!

I watch the cooking shows on createtv. i like chef ramsey (hell's kitchen, kitchen nightmares). I am trying to get hubby to see julie and julia, but he says it got mediocre reviews. I have cookbooks, and look online mostly.

Thanks for the links! I've found some recipes to try on both the 101cookbooks and Christina Cooks sites.

So has anyone seen the movie? It looks kind of cute.

I don't really watch cooking shows much, although if I leave the TV on just for noise, I tend to turn it to the PBS "Create" channel, which has cooking shows and This Old House and things like that. I kind of like "Simply Ming" just because I think the chef is cute, and there was a food/travel series with Gwyneth Paltrow, Mario Batali, and Mark Bittmann eating their way across Spain, which I liked a lot though I never figured out when it was on or what order the programs were in. I don't have cable, so I don't do Food Network or anything like that.

My PBS is in pledge drive right now, but on Saturday they showed a handful of old French Chef episodes. I saw the one on omelets and I'm going to try her technique next time I cook one.

I do love cookbooks, cooking magazines, and recipe Websites. My morning routine includes stopping by Martha Stewart to see what the cookie of the day is, and about a quarter of my meals come from epicurious.com recipes. I come by that honest; my mother reads cookbooks like other people read novels. She has a huge kitchen, and two full sides are lined with ceiling-to-floor bookcases for her cookbooks (with overflow in their office and both spare bedrooms!)

Karen, it wouldn't be the first time I'd have catered a wedding! I'm certain Joey and I could co-chef away! :-)

I'll let you know next time I'm in boston!

i'll be honest. i haven't watched any other cooking show except the french chef (when i was a kid, even).

i do have several cookbooks, and i do like a few specific recipe sites (i love 101cookbooks.com, alicia, it's veggie/vegan, if you haven't seen it before), but i don't feel the need at this point to watch cooking shows.

I don't know, Miss Twist. You might have some serious competition from Joey. He promised he'd cater my wedding. Mind you, that's whenever someone (anyone) decides to propose. LOL !! eh-hem....

However, if you don't mind the rain, you can come out and cook with me. We can argue over whether or not to leave the seeds or remove the seeds from a tomato.

Alicia, check your local PBS station for Christina Cooks. She's a vegan. She did a spinach and toasted pine nut recipe that looked marvelous.

Hmm... maybe that's what I'll do... just travel from sp member to sp member and teach people how to cook!

I'll have to adapt some recipes for vegan purposes, Alicia, but I'm sure I can! emoticon

I don't watch TV, but I love epicurious.com! I just wish someone would cook it, serve it, and clean it all up for me! No, really...

I have a bunch of cookbooks, but only a couple of recipes I'm confidant making.

It's also a hassle because I like very different foods from my husband.

Maybe I should see the movie for inspiration! LOL

And, Twist, if you ever want to start a vegan cooking class, you let me know!

LOL. Yep, and I learned allot from you. :)

I have watched some cooking shows but they moved too fast for me. I have a couple of cookbooks now and thanks to Twist, feel more confident in trying something new.

I'm excited about the movie as I loved Julia Child. "hellloooo! I'm Julia Child!" just loved her voice.

Anyway, despite my love of cooking, I'm not big into watching cooking shows. I'd much rather be *in* the kitchen trying new things. I'm more a fan of perusing recipes (either in magazines, cookbooks, or online), finding people's feedback, thinking about the recipe and how I would execute it.

Ask Vicki - I just spent two days in her kitchen making her smell herbs and spices and "visualizing with her mouth"!! well, that and we cooked up a storm! :-D

In honor of the new Julia Child bio flick, Julie and Julia, what cooking shows do you watch ?

Did you watch the French Chef ? What other cooking shows do you watch ?

I loved Julia Child ! I watched all her shows ! I learned so much about cooking by watching the French Chef. I usually watch the PBS cooking shows. I love Lidia's Italy as well as Gourmet Magazine's Diary of a Foodie. That's a marvelous cooking show.

I also watch America's Test Kitchen, Todd English's Food Trip, Made in Spain and Christina Cooks.

I watch a ton more, but can't remember them all. I love cooking shoes. How about you ?
