Sounds great, and a good way for me to keep track at work too. I will have to pick up a little notebook to keep in my purse!

I love it! I keep track of my food, exercise, total steps, how I'm feeling, hours of sleep, water, weight, etc. I carry it around with me when I can, and when I can't, I write things down on a pad of paper in my purse and transfer it later. It's great to look at how many pages I've filled out since I really got serious about getting healthy.

I HATE tracking food. For one thing I'm on dial-up so my computer is very slow at loading up the web pages, for another, I almost always seem to be having one computer problem or another.

BUT...
When I'm tracking my food, I do tend to eat less calories/fat. Dreading seeing that total calories number does set me thinking about what I'm eating.
When the computer entry gets to be too much for me, I still keep track in the "Health Journal" I'm keeping for myself. It's something I'll be able to look back at and remember my progress. Then when the computer isn't being so fussy, I can always go back later and add my foods online.

thats a valid point TRAC176. I think ill have to think about it more- sometimes ill add, other times when i know what i've eaten i might skip it.

and yes, my tracker is in kilos- not trying to get too skinny

I think it's a good idea to continue tracking all of your food. The other day I passed on something because I knew I'd have to track it. That's awesome motivation!!

i have a pad of paper and pen next to the food scale on my counter, i write down everything i eat, and tally what i drink. only takes a minute to do. ( plus knowing i have to write everything down makes me think, am i eating cuz i am hungry or out of habit?) then i when i go to add my food i tear off the piece of paper. and have a new sheet to start on.
sometimes i log it after every meal, sometimes once a day. it can be boring, but its my way of being accountable to myself.
good luck with however you decide to go!

I should keep my words soft and sweet, in case i have to eat them.

Calorie tracking can be a chore. Question though, do you enter it as you eat (ex. after each meal?) or once a day. I used to enter as I ate, now I do it once or twice a day (I am home during the day.) and it is less of a hassle.

My pitfall in the past was stopping the food tracking. The minute I stopped tracking, the pounds (or Kilos) started coming back!!

Do what feels right. Maybe try the fast tracking or plan meals a week or so in advance and log a week at a time?

XXXButterflyGRL, I believe Tanese is posting her weight in kilograms (kg), not pounds.

Tanese, if you are comfortable with your rate of weight loss and confident that your portion sizes are on target and nutrient goals being met, you might try "quick tracking" just your fruits and veggies and/or just five items a day. That way you'll still get the SparkPoints each day for entering up to 5 foods. If you notice that your weight loss is stalling or you are gaining back, it would be good to start tracking again. It's proven that those who do write down every bite, weighing and measuring the portions, do lose weight more steadily and tend to keep it off. The final choice is up to you.

for the first few weeks of being on this website putting my eaten calories through the nutrition tracker was fun! Not to mention informative- i definately learnt where my pitfalls were... However i eat fairly similar meals and have made heaps of ajustments to keep my calories and fat content down- and am pretty aware of how much i am eating. So now its more of a chore than anything else!

So i guess my question is should i keep entering foods- or just new ones to see how much i really am eating?

???
