I'm looking into getting a new one. Omoron makes one that takes the bodyfat measurement from both your upper and lower body simultaneously. It will also calculate your visceral fat (the fat around your organs) which can be particularly unhealthy. And it will tell you your lean body weight and calculate your Base Metabolic Rate from that information.

The thing to consider is that it didn't appear to have an "atheletic" setting so if you aren't over-weight it probably won't be that accurate. Also for precision on these (repeatability of results)I found that damp feet will work best and you absolutely need to find a consistent time to use them. First thing in the morning would probably be best.

The model is the Omron HBF-500 you can google that and see what you think.

Quit trying, start doing!

It wouldn't be something I'd buy just for me unless I actually needed a new scale, but maybe when I DO need a new scale or with a money gift I receive at Christmas.

Mine is my Healthometer. It is simple to set up, accomidates up to four people in the history and has big buttons to indicate who is using it and whether or not to save the info, and scroll button for viewing history. Lets you set a weight loss or gain goal and view progress. Measures hydration and body fat, although I am not sure how accurate the hydration % actually is. I can't get mine up over 35% no matter how much water I drink or how much I reduce my salt and caffine intake.

Anyone care to recommend a particular brand/model? The one I'm thinking of (brand) starts with T... Tamika?

I bought mine for $60 at Sports Authority. I don't ever use the bodyfat% or hydration part... just the weight. I was tired of seeing my bodyfat at 27% so I just stopped looking LOL.

I got mine from Bed Bath and Beyond and I love it. It's the most accurate scale I've ever owned.

Minions! I need minions! Barring that, I'll take a non fat sugar free chai latte.

I have one and love it because even if the weight doesn't change, I can see if I lost fat!! Mine came from Wal-mart and can be set up for 4 people to save your history

We have one we got from Bed Bath & Beyond...Costco sells one or two. We really like them, though I wish the one we have stored our last read. Some do.

I have one, and I really like it. You can set it up for two different people and it remembers your last weight and body fat percentage. It's fairly accurate when I compare it to the one in our fitness center. I bought it at Kohl's, but I've also seen them at Target, Wal-Mart, and K-Mart. I bought a mid-price one. No real cons that I can think of. :-)
