I'm midway through week 2 and am realizing my biggest problem is too little protein and too much sugar. This is really an eye opener.

ravyn, congrats on your loss!

You guys sound like you are doing amazing-great attitudes! My first week ends Friday...well we had Thanksgiving so I didn't really start to watch what I am eating until today...but I did 'watch' what I ate becuase I did journal every bit of it. Although my calories were 100-200 over I saw I need way more protein and less fat-so a good lesson. Here goes the week!

My first week ends Thursday, so that will be my "real" weigh-in day, but so far I have lost nothing. I do feel better, and I am doing good with my tracking. When I track my foods now, I think about what I normally would have consumed and I am totally embarrased. I can't believe I would have eaten that much!

I thought I weighed 176 when I started and when I got on the scale this morning to see what I really was starting at it said 179! Yikes! That's freaky, because beside being pregnant, this is the heaviest I've ever been. So, I really cut back on food and I'm super excited because I did cardio on Friday, Saturday AND Sunday!
Yea, Me!
I'm going to make it!!

It's almost the end of my first week. I will probably gain when I weigh in, but I'm sticking with it. Tracking my calories has REALLY made me aware that the weekends are a big problem when it comes to eating! I did get in most of my exercise, though. I'm going to stay with Fastbreak for another week, most likely, and work on adding calorie tracking/sticking to my range more, now that the exercise ball is rolling. Maybe I won't even weigh in this week...should I? What do you all think? I pay TOO MUCH attention to the scale sometimes...

I've had a weird week. I lost a pound; regained most of it; and lost it again. So I am back where I started. But this is a short week for me, so I'll probably look better tomorrow.

Hi this is my first day also, I just finished planning my meals for the week and i noticed something in the daily breakdowns of my meals thats probably causing my weight problems, I know i eat too many carbs but i didn't really think about how much I actually neglect my fats! if i get anything out of this that is some great insight to begin with :D

This is my first week. It will be a week on Monday but I already feel better. I have more energy and am actually waking up before noon. Big improvement for me. I am actually looking forward to hitting the scale on Monday and seeing what is happening. I kinda have a good feeling about this.

I gained 6 pounds.

I'm not worried about it or upset - I was a couch potato before I started going to the gym and exercising. I think most of that weight gained is muscle.. and I've read that at the start of a program of diet and excersize it's very common to stay the same or gain weight because of muscle gain.

I'm trying to measure my success in other ways - mostly by how I physically feel when I am working out. The first few times I used a stationary bike and felt quite tired on the easy resistance levels. After a week and a half of working out, I can do the elliptical machine for half and hour on easy without feeling exhausted. Sure, it's a small step, but it's a big improvement for me.

I'm also trying out measuring my waist and hips and neck (entering it under the weigh-in section). I've only done that once, but we'll see how that goes.

This is my first week too and I find by journalizing my food intake I'm much more conscious of what I'm eating. But I have to say besides losing weight part of my goal is this is to eat food that is in my freezer and pantry...so rice and beans, frozen veggies...home made pizza breads....I'm on a tight budget until next week :) but so far it's going well...I'm feeling good about this....just taking is nice and slow....

It's my first week too. I'll be happy to lose anything or just stay the same for that matter. I'm trying to take it slow. I did great the first day then not so great tracking...but I'm concentrating on my "fastbreak" goals. I have done OK exercising, not so great on calories but I guess I'll work on that in stage 2! ;) Good luck everyone...

Don't give up. Remember why you are doing this and think about all the people who will be amazed at what you have done when you reach your goal!! Hang in there, the support that you will recieve here will be a big help, but you have to be ready to commit to the work. I recommend you trying to find a buddy that lives nearby that you can work out with and get your family, if you have anyone living with you, on board too.

This is my first week, but I can tell you from past experience that it took me 3 weeks just reducing calories and slightly increasing exercise. Hang in there and don't let the scales get you down. Feel free to contact me anytime, I am just getting started and have a lot of weight to lose.
