Well you know what they say about the best laid plans... They end up in ruins!! Last night fell apart! Ended up going to Kevin's grandmothers and helping her get set up for doll club this weekend. She has had a lot of remodeling done and house needed spruced back up. Hanging stuff back on the walls, etc. We were there for 3 hrs visiting and replacing all of her knick knacks on the walls. Kevin made it home before I did and he ordered pizza for dinner as it was going on 7pm!! Kids and I got home at 7:15p we ate, daughter did homework and then kids got bathes!! No planning last night other than we would have the chicken I was supposed to make last night tonight!! LOL I will try again tonight to make plans for weekend meals!

You sound like you're getting a lot more organized than I am! Kudos! One of these days I'm actually going to plan meals a couple days ahead of time and stick to it...

You are all so right, this was just a minor set back. Also, it turns out the weight gain was mostly water, if not all water.

I managed to lose weight!! I am down to 204.4 which is lower than 2 wks ago before I gained back the pound!!

Also, spark sent out an email that had a link to an article about what is really in your favorite restraunt foods, it has links to all types of restraunt websites for nutrition info. Also, it had hints for eating at restraunts that you don't know the calorie/fat continent of the food listed by type of cuisine!! Both will be life savers in the future!

We now have a game plan for weekends in place, I think Kevin was feeling guilty about my binging this weekend!! He and my daughter are in charge of dishes and thawing any needed items for weekend meals while I am at work. My 10 yr old daughter suggested this!! My son, who is 6, is in charge of clearing the table and setting the table. We all plan meals for the weekend on Wendesday night at the dinner table and write out a menu!! We plan any eating out at that time too, unless it is a spur of the moment thing with family that pops in unannounced!

I am getting it together, slowly. Tonight will be our first meal planning night. We will see how it goes.

Thanks for all the support, suggestions, reality checks, facts, and kicks to get back on track!!! I needed all of it.

Ravyn emoticon

PS for all of you that wanted a weekend calorie challenge, I am going to post one in the challenge forum. Also was going to start a weekend support thread in the General Team Discussion section, if you all haven't beaten me to it!!

I had a big eating weekend too, and to add to that, I did very little exercising.

Last weekend I went on a Quilting Retreat with 20 other ladies from my quilt guild. The food was excellent and I didn't do a very good job of controlling my portions. I had intended on walking some while I was there, but the weather was bad and I was having so much fun that I stuck close to the main room so I wouldn't miss anything! I gained about 2 pounds over the weekend.

I've been doing so well over the last month and a half that I decided not to worry about it. The thing to remember is that such times are few, and are always going to happen at one time or another. Overall, we are doing great things for our health, and an occasional blip isn't going to wipe out all the good we have been doing.

I got right back into my walking on Monday and got my highest walking steps in a day ever!

One thing that I've found really helps me when I can't get away from the house is to march in place when I'm watching tv or when I'm waiting for a web page to load. It's easy to do in a very small area, and I can really get my heart going too!

Don't let one bad weekend turn you off dieting! Chances are, most of your weight gain was water and waste, not fat. That weight will quickly disappear.

Try making up a list of all the reasons you want to lose weight. Then print it out and keep it in your pocket or pocketbook. When you get tired of the whole mess, pull it out and read it -- might inspire you right then to stay on the diet.

Good luck.

I'm all for help on the weekends! My weekdays are very regimented by work, but the weekends are open for chowing down! Plus, I tend to drink on the weekends and then my decision making is not as good. This past weekend was the best I've done in awhile. Mostly because I was gaining weight back and gave myself that swift kick! Does this ever get easy? Maybe not, but it is definately worth it!!

Hey Ravyn,
I just read the thread you started. Thanks for being so honest. It helps me to know that others go through the same things that I do!

It sounds like you are getting right back on track. emoticon

I love the idea of a weekend thread. The weekdays usually go a little smoother for me since they are more scheduled. Of course I do have problems from about 2 pm to 4 pm every afternoon too...

I just tried a spinach/carrot filled lasagna roll up tonight. It went over big with the family. I hate spinach, and I loved the recipe!! You can find a link to the exact recipe by going to my food tracker on my sparkpage. Hubby suggested chopping up mushrooms to add to it next time, and I could have done without the meat, it was filling before I ate the meat out of the sauce on my plate.

PS Thanks for the reality check, I just read your message before coming here!! LOL

Ravyn, u've got mail!

Katherine, I like the share the weekend plans idea. My Mom's cooking on Sundays was one of my biggest healthy eating challenges. For the last 2 weeks she has let me plan the menu and she cooks it. It has been a marvelous success! She is even going to "let" me cook this weekend. emoticon I hope I don't killer off!

I'm open for healthy sunday dinner suggestions. I was thinking about spinach, mushroom, artichoke heart lasagna rolls. I'm listening!

TTLee

PS - We ARE DOING THIS. and WE ARE SUCCESSFUL! just because we are here! emoticon

Thanks for the support gals!! I was really feeling like I was the only one on a binge, and that I ate everything!!!!

Had a better day today!! Stayed in calorie range!! Tried a new recipe tonight, Lasagna roll-ups. Actually ate a green vegetable without wanting to run from the dinner table!!! emoticon A miricle in an of its self!! I actually knowingly ate spinach!!

A weekend thread sounds like it might benifit a lot of us!! Problem is, I never know what will happen over the weekend. We never know how things will go at work for me and if I will get stuck at work, so we don't make plans. I am willing to give it a shot if others are on board!

There are teams out there that are for weekends. Maybe we need to start a thread for the weekends. The one I belonged to at one time worked this way:

checked in on Wednesday, stated what your plans were for the weekend, how you would handle certain things (temptations). People gave suggestions etc. We could do something like that if you think it would be helpful.

Wow! It looks like it was the weekend for all us emotional eaters to "fall off the wagon". I too ate out at a buffet once and then out to dinner another evening. Kids and G*loves came Sunday and are still here. Love 'em but it IS stressful. So here's to "New Day, Week, Beginnings" Hang in the Ravyn and others. WE CAN DO THIS!!!!! Thanks Kathryn for ALL your support. Hey ya'll, look at Kathryn's weight tracker, she has been us and is a success! We can be that too!!!!!!
Hugs to all.

I had a similar weekend. I turned my thesis in on Friday and was so relieved that I ate more than normal, as well as had a few drinks. On top of it, I found out today that there are some major problems in it and now I'm stressed and want to eat again!

Hey, Ravyn, don't be so hard on yourself! We all mess up now and then and go off our "always healthy eating plan", which is not always 100% healthy.... Things come up and schedules change etc., so it is easy to get off track once in awhile.

This is a new week, so think of it as a new weekly beginning...Like Katherine said, walk in your house if the weather is bad etc. Just do one little thing that will make you feel better and strong again. You can do it... we all are there for you. I think you already started out great today with your healthy breakfast. Pat yourself on the back for that. It will get better as the day goes on.

Let us know how you are doing. We are all in this together! emoticon CJ

(((HUGS))) The best thing you can do is let it go. This is a lifestyle change, and so in this ONE weekend of your LIFE, you ate more than you usually do. That's all.

The good news? Since you have revved your body up by eating so much, when you get yourself back on track this week, your body is going to be in "overdrive" to burn those calories. (I have no idea if I've explained that correctly....)

So, you can't walk today, but do your eye toy thing. You enjoy that! :)

I am an emotional eater, too. My solution? Move on! I can really dwell on something like a weekend like that, so I've had to work REALLY hard on letting go and letting God. Just repent, so to speak, and start again. One weekend won't break you, and you'll remember it the next time! You are worth forgiving yourself!

If you can't get outside you can walk briskly in your house. I do it all the time when the weather is bad. Turn on a program and start stepping in place or jogging around the house and pretty soon you will have forgotten about all the bad. Exercise will get you going again. Forget about the past and look to the future.

I just logged all the food except Friday night, I don't know the info for the restraunt we ate at, and it is a small family owned place.

As of this morning, I am back up to 208 and that makes things worse. I exercised like crazy, but it didn't help. Kids are home today, which puts a crimp in my walking routine which usually helps me destress!! They just can't keep pace and the more brisk the walk, the better I feel. May see if M-I-L can watch the grandkids for an hour or so.

Thanks for the suggestion on the walk.

Take a deep breath. Not all is lost. You are feeling what a lot of us feel from time to time. I think eating makes you feel horrible not only because you gained but because the food is not good for you and your body feels horrible. emoticon

Here's a swift kick in the butt. Now you grab hold and get back on program. Start drinking your water and tracking your food. Did you track over the weekend? If not I would suggest you go and do that so you can see exactly what you ate. Sometimes visualizing it helps a lot more than just saying I ate this and this. You CAN DO THIS. You will be more upset with yourself if you don't. It's not easy but it is worth it.

We all eat things we shouldn't but as you go along on this plan you will do it less and less. Go out ofr a walk today even if it isn't for more than 15 minutes. Please Drink your water it helps so much.

You have done so good so far don't let this minor set back derail the whole thing. Get back on board. I am going to start a new thread for challenges so check it out.

Keep hollering for help we are all in this together and want to help. Find a new group for emotional eaters if the one you are in doesn't give you the support you need. You can also start your own if that would work for you. Take care and check back here as often as you can.

Okay this is part a plea for help and part telling on myself!!

I BLEW my lifestyle changes this weekend. I have been depressed over up coming holidays (have trouble dealing with my parents) work is not a stable situation, and gaining weight last week. I totally screwed up my eating this weekend and I knew that I was doing it and didn't care!! emoticon

I ate at a buffet on Friday night with my husband and said oh well, I will burn it off at work tonight because I am working a double. I did do about 10 hrs of heavy cleaning Friday night to Saturday afternoon at work (moving furnature, scrubbing walls, rearranging bedrooms, general cleaning, up and down ladder to clean vents and light fixtures, etc.) Saturday I slept for an hour when I got home then we went to Steak n Shake!! (My choice, I was only going to have a single burger and cottage cheese!!) Instead I had a dbl bacon cheese burger, fries, sippable sundae (which I am still paying for because I am lactose intolerant!!) and cottage cheese. My excuse, I burned soo many calories at work it will be okay. Sunday, no one had done any dishes over the weekend while I was at work, so hubby loaded us in the car and took us to a buffet because he didn't want to wash dishes so I had room to cook!! Instead of 2 pcs of pizza, I had 4 excuse, they were small and not a lot of toppings on them. I also ate 4 breadsticks with marinaria sauce, and cottage cheese with pineapple! No excuses, just ate until I was stuffed!!

I am back up to 208lbs as of this morning and really discouraged by all of this and I almost want to give up!! Please, PLEASE someone, I need a good swift kick to get back on track!! I really do feel horrible about this and now I am worried that I will binge again because of the weight gain!!

I am an emotional eater and I know it is a problem, I am in the emotional eaters group, but don't always feel welcome there because they seem to have it together. emoticon
