Ok here is my Christmas quilt - it was easy to pack up and bring with me west to add some festive to our new place

To personalize it I have little mementos from my mom (her broach), my dad (his military pin), my children, my husband. Items I can sew on and each family member is represented.

Thanks girls. Amy, the tree skirt was given to my daughter.

Linda from Central Illinois

My March goals are:

1. Track more (at least 21 days)
2. Lose 2.1 pounds, at least. (I gained weight in February--this has to stop)
3. Continue to exercise 3 to 5 times a week
4. Work on organizing sewing room better.
5. Continue to put together my Grassy Creek tops and get ready to quilt them.
6. Quit mindless snacking.

Gosh, I missed several new additions to this thread. Love them all! I'm glad you finished your wonderful tree skirt Linda--you will have it for many years to come.

I will try and snap a few more pictures today. I have lots of handmade items and don't even put out all of them every year! I do have favorites among them and have given away some too. We did start and finish our holiday decorating Saturday. It took most of the day. Sunday we started a holiday 1000 piece puzzle and finished it yesterday. The colors in it were very blended and scattered throughout the puzzle making it a bit of a challenge. It was fun, but is now done. I ordered Christmas stamps online (not sure how many cards I will really send out). I might make a holiday pillow cover since the one on my couch in the family room is floral and really looks out of place with all the Christmas decorations and quilts.

Just found this thread. This is the Nativity Panel I hand quilted for our challenge in guild last winter. My item was a button that said Believe and nothing says believe to me more than the birth of Jesus.

That is cut4e Nancy. I just aim and shoot on my phone, edit and save it and it works out. Maybe you have something in settings that is different? Who knows. It is a mystery. There is a tech forum on Spark where you can ask these sort of quesitons. CArol

Here's an Advent calendar from a panel I made or my great nephew about 6 years ago.

This one I took with my regular camera in portrait orientation -it displayed correctly! It looks like there's some keystone going on - but I'm not a photographer.

It seems like a picture taken in portrait orientation is rotated to landscape or vice versa. I took the photos with my iphone, so I'm not sure which is portrait vs. landscape orientation.

Here's my latest quilt - the Jelly Snowflake. I call it "Let It Snow".

It's also rotated (sigh). But because it is so symmetrical, it's hard to tell.

Here's two Christmas decorations I made around 1990. The first is a basket we use to hold Thanksgiving & Christmas cards. I didn't make the basket but I did add the bow to it - so I guess that counts, right?

The other is a cross stitch I did and mounted it in the red wreath. It's about 12" in diameter and hangs on the inside of my front door.

The pictures are correct on my PC - for some reason SparkPeople rotated it 90 degrees.

Interesting--I did nothing in the form and flipping the picture and it is correctly oriented on the trip around the world hanging.

Carol that is going to be super cute! My pictures are correct in my files, but the spark program makes them upside down! I might have to try the reversing idea when I take more pictures.

This one was made at least 15 years ago! It was a trip around the world pattern in a magazine, but had the center empty. I combined a few things to get the center bell motif. I may have added extra borders too. I don't remember as it was a long time ago. I do remember using Christmas scraps for the reds and greens.

That is pretty. Maybe take your pics upside down and then they will reverse when posted. Can you edit the pic and save it to computer first? Its a learning curve. I need to locate some Christmas quilts that I have done.
Here it is prior to sewing it together. Carol

I thought we could inspire each other by sharing our creations be they old or new. Lets keep this show all things winter, Christmas, Hanukkah or what ever you celebrate through January. You can consider adding a story about the quilt or item. I will periodically add my winter/Christmas items to this thread.

My first one was made over 20 years ago. It is a watercolor wreath. The watercolor technique was very popular at that time. This particular one was a kit bought from a shop that has been out of business since 2001! Some of my early classes were taken at this shop from a variety of teachers there. I just loved that shop and had a good time there. I was a beginner when I started going there.

I sure wish these pictures wouldn't flip when posted! It looks much better when positioned correctly!
