Thanks Mrs_Loomis. I didn't think it sounded like a good idea and my thought was confirmed with you post. It's always good to get insight from someone who has specific knowledge (not that I doubt what others have to say).

Sometimes I run faster as well! And you can definitely increase your distance when you increase your speed. I've done that before as well!

I just want to add that I run soooo much faster on a treadmill, with a fan. If I don't have a fan I get hot really fast. I don't run as far, but faster!

Each of is an athlete, some are just in training.

Humm interesting. Maybe it's not the supplement. Maybe her treadmill is set on km and she doesn't know it. :-)

Thanks! I did check out her site and she told me what she is using and no way would I spend almost $300 for supplements!!! I've been reading her blog and she writes about what she takes and eats and I'm guessing she barely hits 1200 calories, if that! I mean she hardly eats anything at all! I love food and could never deprive my body what it loves! emoticon I know it is not good, but I just wanted to hear other people say it as well! I would never turn my back on SparkPeople!!!

I sold for AdvoCare whern the company started in the 90s.....and I don't advocate for them at all. Skip spending the $$ and stick to the Spark plan---healthy eating and exercise. It's what your body needs.

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. ~Colossians 3:23-24

Supplements are not regulated by the FDA and just because they are over the counter does not mean they are safe...think ephedra and the old Hydroxycut...on cause fatal heart attacks and the other liver failure.

I think you must accept that your body is different then hers. She may have a higher VO2max, higher percentage of fast twitch muscle fiber, etc and who's to say her treadmill is even calibrated currently. I certainly would not compromise my health just to be as fast as a friend.

RUN SPARK STRONG!

So, one of my friends who is not a runner at all started taking these supplements about three weeks ago. Now, I'm not one for supplements to help me lose weight b/c I know what the future end results are: added weight that you lost. But, we are friends on facebook and she has a blog on there going through her 24 day trim challenge. She has been running on the treadmill and she takes this Spark energy drink before she does and well I'm just amazed by her times. She started running 2 miles around 17 min. then the next thing I know she is down to 16:30, 16:04, 15:54, and the last time she ran 2 miles 14:54!!! Now, I'm jealous b/c I have been running since high school and my fastest post high school 2 mile is 15:51! I'm trying to NOT LET IT BOTHER ME BUT I CAN'T!!!! And now, she just ran 3 miles in 22:50 and my fastest 23:27. Yes, you can say I am definitely jealous. I will not take any type of energy drink or supplement to help me and I keep telling myself that I run outside and not on a treadmill and that the times should not bother me, but should I???

Has anyone ever heard of this product? Is it healthy? I asked my trainer about it and he said that it sounded like she was on speed if she was running those times, now that is his quote, not mine! And I guess I just need some extra motivation to focus on me and not her times!

Thanks for listening!

Oh and here is her website: www.advocare.com/11035547
