Hope it works, Aims! I use those Spenco inserts in my shoes and I am very happy with them.

My appointment went okay. He looked at my running shoes and said the wear on them was normal and did some xrays. Apparently there are 2 bones that connect your big toe to your foot and one of my bones and set a little lower than the other so the lower bone was getting irriated. He taped a little arch support on my foot and sent me to a store to buy some Spenco Orthotic Inserts. I am going back tomorrow so that he can mess with them to make sure they fit in my shoes properly.

I am goign to try to run tomorrow and see what happens. Thanks for the suggestions guys!

You probably should bring shoes. On my first visit I just wore a pair of old running shoes and he never even looked at them. The second visit to pick up the insoles he had me bring all the shoes I would be wearing with the insoles to make sure they fit. That included my work shoes and a couple of pairs or running shoes.

If you get new orthotics I can't see you wearing them for your up coming marathon. They take a couple of weeks to make and then you have to get used to them. I got mine about a month ago and they are correcting the problem but it seems to be taking a little time. Good luck on your visit and I hope all is okay for you.

Curren shoes and an old pair. I'd also bring the socks you usually wear---just in case that's part of the issue. Write down everything you want to ask and anything you don't understand...

Good luck!

Shoes, a list of questions to ask, and paper and pen so you can write down answers. Remember if you don't understand anything - ask the question again and tell them you don't understand.

I figured for my appt tomorrow I should bring my running shoes so he can see how the soles are worn down. Do you think I should bring anything else? I haven't ran in over a week but have been doing swimming and stationary biking to keep up my cardiovascular training. My marathon is less than a month away and I am hoping for positive news.
